Works Great for a Fraction of Cost

Very inexpensive product that works just fine. We didn't even need the software. We just plugged it in and it worked. The enclosed software is the small-sized CD, so if your CD drive does not hold those and you need the software, this would not be good for you (unless you had a friend copy it onto a larger CD). The manufacturer does not have the software in a bigger size.

Parallel to USB cable

Cable worked exactly as hoped. Was able to plug an older parallel port printer into new 64 bit Vista Machine with no parallel port. Simple as plugging new cable into printer, plugging other end into USB port on computer and going to "add printer" in Vista. (P.S. Vista x64 had drivers for my printer with it, so I had no missing driver problems).

An amazing way to upgrade your printer with your latest laptop or computer that doesn't incorporate the ugly, bulky parallel port! Simply plug it in and press PRINT as normal.

New Home PC did not come with connections for my old HP DeskJet 932C so I purchased this cable. Just plugged it in and it was ready to go! Works great and much cheaper than Staples or Amazon. I just ordered it online and picked in up in a few days at my local Wal-mart! Perfect!

This is a GREAT product! I have the cord hooked up to my OLD printer, and then can switch between my OLD computer, and my newer laptop. It works great and I would recommend it to anyone who has an old printer. Also, the value is great....It cost much less than anywhere else. It was worth the wait (having it shipped site to store).

Old Printer Revived

After my older computer died, I discovered I no longer had parellel ports on my newer computers. This cable worked perfect. My old IBM laser printer is going again. Sure is a lot less expensive to operate than my inkjets. I am very happy with this purchase, especially after I priced this type cable at Office Max and Best Buy. No problems.

Good for the money

This product is good for the money, but it says it is suppose to be 6 ft. but it is definately shorter than that. It still works well but if you need longer get the longer one.

Don't know if it works or not ...

I bought this for my mother's new computer to hook up her older printer. The cable installed fine, the computer seemed to know that the printer was there, but the printer never did print anything. After exhaustive searches through help pages, and no one to answer questions, we gave up and used a different printer. I have no way of knowing whether it was the computer, the cable or the printer that was the problem. Also, after ordering this cable and waiting over a week for it to come in, I found that it was, in fact, an item that I could have gone in and purchased at the store ... no waiting.

Didn't work! Product returned.

My setup is Windows XP and an HP Deskjet 855 printer (also tried it with Windows Vista and an HP Deskjet 620). Both computers recognized the cable and added "USB Printing Support" to device manager. But neither worked for printing. I did get it to work with WinXP and an HP LaserJet 4+. Apparently what I've heard is that the printer has to support network printing to work with USB converter (the LaserJet can support the NetDirect network interface from HP; my inkjets don't).

Ordered a USB printer cable from your on-line catalog which looked like just what I needed, but the parallel-end connector was slightly larger than what my printer required. I suggest that you specify dimensions and number of pins on this connector to avoid future customer ordering errors. It appears to be a good quality connector, but a simple picture is not sufficient information. I will have to return it. Thanks anyway.
