I was surprised at how well it works. Very relaxing, brings instant relief. The one problem, the pad tore the 1st time I tried to remove it. Need to use extreme care when releasing it from your skin. I plan on using it for a long time to come. Very easy to use.
I have arthritis in my back and it can get pretty painful, leaving me to search high and low for anything will help take away some of the pain. I saw the television commercials for this product and thought I would give it a shot. At first, its a very strange feeling. You feel a few short 'taps' then there's a stream of sensation that goes across the pad. After about 20 minutes or so, that sensation numbs and it really does make the area feel better. I will definitely continue purchasing this product and will recommend it to others suffering from back pain.
I had tried a TENS unit many years ago, but it failed to give any pain relief AND it was $100/month to RENT the thing. I took a chance on this one after seeing it on TV. To my amazement it really worked!!! I am so pleased with it that I promptly bought 4 more as gifts. If you have chronic back pain, give this item a try.
After pulling something in my back and laying on the couch for 3 days unable to much of anything, I went to work...............dreading it! A friend at work told me about her son having this item and how much he loved it. So, I ordered it online for same day pickup and had my boss pick it up for me as he was already there. OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seemed like instant relief! No, it didn't stop the pain completely, but it did numb it quite a bit. I was able to walk faster, bend over without having to hold onto something! I would highly recommend this item. I've had it on most of the morning since I got it, and the difference in my back is like night and day. Gone is me holding onto something just to stand from sitting! I may even tackle my Christmas tree tonight now!
We purchased the ice hot machine to get rid of my husband's horrible back ache. After three sections a day with his icy hot releif pads. It was easy to program and the 30 minute limit for one session is enough. The degree of pulse is from 1-60. So you can program it to your pain level. In three days the aches were gone. Great to have for the pain and refills are complete and available.
It does help my muscle pain in my lower back but after 30 minutes I re-set it for another 30 minutes, then I really feel relief. I can go hours or days before I have to use it again. The only thing, the batteries do not last very long, so you have to buy a lot of them. Used the sticky pad at least 15 times so far and have not replaced it yet, but eventually will have to. You can buy replacement pads separately. So far I like the Icy Hot Smart Relief Tens Therapy Back Pain Kit to relieve my back muscle pain.
I'm a 64 year old woman who has had lower back pain for years. I have had the TENS therapy several times. But once you leave the office, about an hour later, pain starts creeping back in. Having this wireless unit to uee over and over, whenever needed, is GREAT!
I've been an RN for over 20 years. I remember when the physical therapist would bring a TENS unit to the floor I was working on in the hospital. At that time they were huge, clunky machines that were about the size of a small generator. The therapist would push it to the room on a small cart because it was so large. I was shocked when I saw how small this machine was and really wondered how such a small unit could work. After using it I found it works very well. The most important thing to do before you start using this is to read the instructions that are enclosed in the box. A lot of people complained about the battery life. It clearly states in the instructions to wait 5-10 minutes between uses so the battery can recharge. If you don't do this the battery will not last. The placement of the pad is also very important. This is not like a pad that you put directly on the area where it hurts. You want to place it exactly as illustrated because it's actually working on the nerves surrounding the area that is painful. The electrodes are stimulating the nerves which will block the pain. I have chronic back pain and two herniated discs in my back. The pain pills were no longer working very well so I bought this hoping it would give me some relief. After I placed the pad properly it gave me a great deal of relief. Some others commented it was difficult to use. What I do is first I snap the unit onto the pad and then I turn it on. Then I hit the + button to the intensity I think I'll need, THEN I put it on my back. It's easy to adjust the intensity if you need to do so. I can't say that it completely took away my pain but it has helped enough that I can do things like vacuuming my floor without being in agony. I did ask my doctor about using this before I bought it. One important thing to note is that people with pacemakers cannot use this product. Two of my family members have also bought their own units for chronic pain and they are a very happy with the results.
My Wife and I are in our seventy's and have back problems. I bought the unit for my wife. She tried it and then worked in her garden. After a couple of hours, her back felt fine. It even felt fine the next morning. I bought mine the next day with refills. We both use them regularly and can vouch that the units do relieve back pain.
This has worked well for certain pain that I have by reducing the pain. Neck and mid to high shoulder pain But for another pain I am having has not brought any relief. My right hip. But do have to say I do not know what the pain is caused from. So need to go to my doctor and find out before I say rather it would/will help or not.
