The first unit I ordered was damaged, where the right cd door continuously opened and closed while the left cd door wouldn't open without my help at all. I was given a full refund (not including shipping) the next day, without any problems, when I returned it to the store near me - and promptly reordered it hoping that I just got a bad apple. When the second one arrived I set it up and everything worked like you would expect from a new electronics purchase. I would have given this system an excellent score except for the short-comings for my purposes. For me, I couldn't believe the unit could not be connected to my hdtv's audio output. I don't think I've ever owned one that couldn't be before. Then, my particular Ipod is not compatible with it and I still don't really understand why it isn't. The remote labeling is a little challenging to read to say the least but it hasn't been much of an issue for me. The cd random playback function does not play between all four discs, only for one disc at a time. But I also have a Phillips that is similar in design in another room and it doesn't randomly play all discs together either, so there must be something to it. The subwoofer makes a big difference in the sound for me since I've listened to music with and without it. And it has this little blue light on it that shines up the wall to the ceiling in the dark that I like and find as an extra little perk. It was quick and fairly easy to set up and it works and sounds fine. The unit also puts out a LOT less heat than the 4-piece shelf system I moved downstairs. Between it, the hdtv and my PS3, one of those big heat sources had to go. My choice was obvious wasn't it?
the left side of the cd changer would not stay closed and it would not play the right side would not open but it would play
