I've been wanting to add an instant hot water faucet that matched my new Delta faucet in champagne bronze for a couple of years now. When I saw that this one featured FILTERED hot AND cold water dispensing I knew it was time to invest. This faucet has simplified my life and knowing that the hot water I'm making my teas and soups with is filtered is very reassuring. Also, the cool water it dispenses makes filling the coffee maker with fresh filtered water so easy. The design fits my aesthetic perfectly.
I have had my combined hot and cold water tap for just over a year and I wonder how I could possibly lived without it. I previously managed to pour a kettle of boiling water over my leg and I bought this InSinkerator as a safety measure. Have been recommended to all my friends and family As an essential part of a modern kitchen.
Was a replacement for the same model. On the previous unit, the hot water handle mechanism had broken inside, and water ran continuously. Consequently, the replacement faucet was an easy install. One warning, however, is that there are two copper tubes that project downward from the faucet under the sink. Compression sleeves and nuts are not included with the faucet. Certainly inexpensive enough, but adds one additional trip to the hardware store. Not sure why Insinkerator did not feel compelled to include such simple hardware. Many other plumbing fixture companies include various different pieces of connection hardware for their products to make it as easy as possible for the DIY'er. One other comment, initially the faucet dripped despite a thorough flushing of the unit, as well as pushing and pulling the handles (hot and cold) on and off in an effort to clear any debris that might have caused the valve inside not to seat correctly and shut off water flow completely. Then, two days after the install, it stopped dripping. So, be patient with your install. You probably did it correctly, and tincture of time was required to work out any debris or air bubbles that might be causing problems.
we bought one ~ 2005, had to have reservoir replaced ~2010 and then the on/off lever stuck and water kept flowing. tried to replace with a single part and came to find out YOU do not have parts for this and had to buy a whole new one. Very Poor form. will not replace again and will not recommend.
This faucet replaces a previous Insinkerator faucet of similar design and function. The previous faucet was leaking from the hot water lever that could have been rectified if a special tool and replacement washer was available. Because Insinkerator does not provide such parts, I had to purchase a new faucet at considerable cost.
This is our second one. We purchased the first dispernser with the heating unit. First one did not work past 5 years-not happy about that. Would be nice if there were available parts that could easily fix those dispensers from leaking (not turning off) or dripping. Pricy faucet but if you are willing to buy one every five years its okay. If this one last beyond 2018 it will be nice.
Love the convenience, look and features. Will probably get another one WHEN this one fails again. Hate that it is essentially an expensive consumable that you have to plan on replacing every 3 years. It should last for 5 years, but quality of construction for both the heater and dispenser is not great. Not even good at times.
with in 5 years i had to change the faucet 2 times the hot water lever gets stack and dose not go back to its off position it is a great product when working but goes bad to often it is a shame that this company dose not warranty it for a longer time and that they do not fix the problem ...... im in the processes of changing it for the 3rd time but to a different model and im hoping that the modern model will not give me this kinds of issue again.
This is the 3rd time I've purchased this product and it seems to fail every 2 years. I can't deny the convenience of having instant hot water at the sink and how good it looks, but even with general care and maintenance every month, a water filter attachment from Insinkerator, it STILL manages to break somehow in a way that the manufacturer has no suggestions to fix. The problem always seems to be a constant leaking, so I'm guessing an inner rubber o-ring is finally worn out? There is no replacing that part either. The manufacturer gives no instructions on how to open it up safely and to replace the part.
This is the second identical unit I had to buy in 4 years because the first one failed - the hot water lever would stay on - after some research online I found there is no way to repair it - you have to buy a completely new unit. So I'm waiting to see how long this one lasts - it is a good product - producing very hot water instantly and room temp water - but it needs to last minimum 10 years - not 4. Warranty coverage didn't cover the failure.
