I was instantly impressed with this product. It's easy to use, feels completely normal when on, it cleverly conceals skin showing through, and thickens my hair so much that I went back to a younger hair style. No one has ever noticed it on (even my partner), they've just commented that my new 'hair cut' really suits me. I went scuba diving over Xmas and was still surprised that it continued to provide great coverage even after an hour under water.
I'm thrilled with this DermMatch Instant Concealer for thin hair or bald spots. I'm a 60 yr. old female with very thin hair naturally but I have some splotchy almost scar-like quarter sized spots on the very top of my head as a result of a lupus type skin problem. My hair is dark & I do color it in a VERY DARK brown shade, which makes these spots almost seem to shine at times due to the white scalp skin that naturally shows through. I've tried other products advertised for thin hair or balding spots but they didn't stay in place & looked horrible. Since my hair is dark, I went ahead & got the Black shade and I'm VERY GLAD I did because even though my hair's not actually black, I've found other products claiming to be dark brown have all been lighter and most had almost a reddishness to them, which didn't come close to blending naturally. At least a black covers the white scalp skin and you can add more or less to make a more natural blend-in. It looks good on new root growth too as a quick fix on parted hair. This is a very compressed powder compact that came with several sponge ended applicators. You wet the sponge, rub it on the powder & apply where needed, using more or less product to make blending more natural. It's the perfect concealer for these "spots" on the top, that look bald even though there's some very thin hair there. I've not tried swimming in it, and don't think I would unless I'd experimented privately first, but I've not had any problems with it running due to heavy sweating while working outside in the yard. I think you'd have to be very careful if trying to apply to cover an entire hairline along face or neck because it would probably look like a paint job in such areas and might rub off easily there. It goes on easily for my needs and does exactly what it says, helps "conceal" spots & make them not stand out, which is all I could hope for--you simply cannot recreate hair that isn't there, but it's been absolutely the best product I've found for my needs. At least I'm not totally embarrassed when the wind blows my hair the wrong way, now that I can conceal those thin stand out spots. It's certainly worth a try for anyone with needs such as mine, just be sure to get a darker color than you think you may need.
I gave this 5 stars because while it didn't look 100% like I have hair, I think the only fix for that is to actually have hair. So, for what this product is and what it does, it certainly deserves 5 stars. I ordered Dark Brown and Medium Brown and was able to mix the two to match my colored hair. I have only used the product once, so I'm sure with more practice, the coverage will look better. But I thought it was very easy to apply and had no problems. My only downside is that I was not comfortable with how my hair looked wet. So this is not something I would be comfortable using while swimming. Maybe it will work better as I get use to using it.
I purchased Medium and Dark Browns and mixed colors to match my color treated hair. I gave this 5 stars because I think this product does an excellent job of hiding the scalp. Any better would require actual hair. I'm not convinced it would stay as dark if I went swimming. The color bled once I got it wet in the shower, though it did not come off completely. Disclaimer for the pictures: I have only used this once. I imagine with more practice, I will master the coverage. But overall, this was very easy to apply and it lasted all day without any problems. I read all the negative reviews and don't agree with any of them.
DermMatch concealed is an excellent product to use in concealing my bald areas because of thinning hair. I have very fine thin hair and I'm starting to bald on the top of my head. This product goes on easily and does not take a lot of time to do all the spots I need to cover. Once I'm finished doing the covering and brush it all my hair has lift and looks full. Without the product my hair is fine and limp which really shows the balding spots. It does not take much product to cover the numerous balding spots I have. I feel it will last a while. So the price is great for the quantity and quality. Thanks DermMatch.
I found this product easy to use. The product covers my thinning scalp perfectly and makes the hair seem a little thicker. I haven't tried it swimming yet, but I have a feeling it will stay on very well. Washes out easily and does not stain my pillow. Next best thing to a hair transplant! I used the Medium Brown and my hair is a light brown but it is a perfect color for me. I would recommend this product to anyone. And although the price seemed a little high, it looks as if it will last me almost a year. You need very little to do the job.
It works like a chrm in hiding the thin hair spots in my hair, I am very glad and satsified as it gives me a smile that no one understand or notice that I am using something(DermMatch product) to cover the empty and visible spot on my hair. Thanks
I don't get complete coverage, but it takes the shine away so the lack of hair doesn't stand out as much. I find it difficult to get it to stick when the paste is damp. I also don't want to put it on too heavy so that it looks so unnatural that people are staring to try and figure out what's going on with my hair. The product is still new to me so trying to find the best technique, but look natural too.
DERMATCH IS AMAZING, LIFE CHANGING PRODUCT! HAVE HAD THIS PRODUCT FOR A WEEK AND MY WHOLE LIFE HAS CHANGE I AM NOT LONGER EMBARRASED OF MY VERY THIN HAIR LINE THAT I HAVE BEEN BATTLING WITH SINCE GRADE SCHOOL! I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT TO EVRYONE WITH THINING/BALDING HAIR! HOWEVER IT IS NOT WATERPROOF AS STATED IN THE AD BUT NONE THE LESS AMAZING AND I WILL BE USING THIS PRODUCT FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE! THANKS DERMATCH!
Nice idea, works good but I use caboki (powder) after for touch up. Takes long time to do it.
