As an accomplished cook and owner of a series of enameled cast iron pots, I was initially skeptical, but very quickly became a convert. I now have the mini and the larger sized Duo. I bought a third one for my son. We both love cooking with it and the results are excellent.
I love my instant pot, I have the 6 qt and now I just got this 3 qt. I use my 6 qt for my soups and main meals and I've been using the 3 qt to make yogurt and will be using it to steam my veggies when I'm cooking something else on my 6 qt one. I recommend the instant pot to anyone it's awesome as it saves you time and it's so easy to use. I haven't use my rice cooker nor my slow cooker since I bought my first instant pot three years ago!
The product is amazing. The quality is extremely good. Stainless steel is the best I've ever cooked with. Very little cleanup. Nothing sticks! Customer service is top-notch. This company stands behind it's product. This particular unit is a nice size for traveling.
I love how much this simplifies meal time! If you follow the directions, it is pretty much foolproof. It is so fast and it makes plenty of food for me and my son. If you're a two or three person family (and especially if you're a busy person), I highly suggest buying this.
I love my Instant Pots. This one was actually a replacement under warranty for a second one I bought for our house in Canada last summer. It was just about the first purchase I made. When the pressure sensor failed to work when we arrived here for our winter visit (the IP otherwise functioned fine), the company quickly and efficiently replaced it. Yeah! I use mine almost every day for cooking chicken and pork, making broth, cooking brown rice, potatoes, and steel-cut oats, etc.
Love the size, it's perfect for two person, I don't have to do to much food lol
We have done 2 pressure cook and 1 slow cook meal with the pot. Only complaint is the wire spacer used to keep your meal off the bottom of the pot is difficult to clean. Multiple pieces of wire are welded or brazed together and food collects in the joints. You have use a tooth brush to clean the food out of the joint.
So far, I have only done 2 things. First did the water boil test and then hard boiled some eggs and the pot worked as expected. WhatI didn't expect was that the stainless steel pot would have what looks like a pitted surface after only 2 short uses (cleaned it 3 times). First cleaning was soapy water since no food actually touched the pot. 2nd and 3rd time used a nylon scrubber which Ed helped a little but not much (photo attached). While the nylon scrubber didn't help much, I could scrape some of the spots off with a fingernail. I imagine something like Brillo would remove but I didn't want to scratch the pot and it shouldn't be that difficult to clean. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Defective?
While my Instant Pot appears to be working correctly, it arrived with cosmetic damage as evidenced by both the outer and inner cardboard packaging being pierced in transit. I had a lot of trouble with the shipping partner, OnTrac, so I am not surprised. In the future, I won't purchase from a seller that uses their service.
My saute mode stopped working in few days after I purchased but other buttons are working as I usually use sauté and I had to purchase nee one because of this issue
