This drum set is fine for getting starting to practice banging on drums. It has 4 rubber pads that are have a good drumming surface. However, the drum sounds are not as loud as I would expect via the speaker - I am sure it would be fine with headphones. The pre-set background music is OK. It's fun to jam on, but it's not a real drum set. It's good for kids to try out drumming and get a feel for it. It's about what I would expect for the price.
