To begin on a positive note, the final product after converting to MP3 is very good. The songs sound clearer in digital than they do on the old vinyl. But what a time consuming chore to get them there! For the software to transfer a song to iTunes once you record it onto the software takes 5 to 10 times as long as it does to play the song. Also it will not recognize a break between songs unless it is at least several seconds. Your whole album side might record as one song as a result. If your time means anything to you, get something more expensive, or download the songs directly.
The first problem I noticed after hooking the turntable up to my receiver and playing a record was that the sound quality was fuzzy. I replaced the cartridge with the one from my regular turntable and that solved the problem. The next thing I noticed was that the lifter for the tone arm did not raise high enough to lift the arm off the record. I assume this was a defect in this particular turntable, but it was enough for me to return it before even loading the software. I'm looking to replace it with a different (and hopefully better) product.
