I have so many old albums and 78 records. I am excited to be able to listen to and record them. Some are very old and were my moms.
My only complaint is having to carefully watch the needle on the lp to manually "mark" the beginning of each track.
I did a fair amount of research, looking for a USB turntable to convert my LPs to digital. This product makes it a snap and the resulting quality is very good. The Gracenote software that identifies track titles and artists was a helpful bonus. The conversion from analog to my itunes library could not be easier. Great product.
This turntable works well for just playing records for whenever the urge hits! Good luck figuring out how to work the storing your files to your computer thing, anyway...
I got this for Christmas, and I have had a lot of fun with it so far. I have it hooked to the computer via USB, and also to a set of powered speakers to listen when I don't want to use it on the computer. The only issue I really had was the "white noise" phenomenon that many have spoken of...to fix this, I simply unplugged from my USB hub and plugged directly into the computer...problem solved! I have ripped several albums using both of the software programs included. I prefer the Audacity program for the flexibility. Overall, I would recommend this turntable. I am not an audiophile as such, but I am a music educator, so I am just thankful to have this resource available at a low cost.
The turntable seems to be well made for the money. The install disk is labeled as containing both PC and Mac software, but this is not the case. Only PC software is included on the disk. This is not really a problem because both Audacity and Disk converter is available on the net. After downloading and installing the disk converter, operation was plug and play. It did develop some distortion during recording 2nd side of an album. I cleaned the record, needle, unplugged usb and restarted software. This seemed to fix the problem.
I bought this for my husband, so he could record his many albums. He found it easy to use and the quality is pretty good. The only downside to the product is that it record into a Itune format and it is quite cumbersome to convert to MP3 format. Other than that he is having a great time.
Easy to setup and use. Good quality.
