bigger than i thought it would be for the price . the kids use it alot. very sturdy. great value for the price
They were purchased for an 8 and 11 year old. They love them, of course they are beginners.
I don't know how technically good this item is, but my grandson loves it. His Mom told me that since his birthday he has not missed one night looking at the stars. I wish when I had purchased this I had also picked up a book to identify the planets!
Got it for my Grandson and he was very pleased with it.

My daughter is enjoying the stars with her new telescope. This is a really good product. I recommend it to those who seek to gaze into the skies.
Tripod is not well made. legs become seperated easily.Rivets holding the legs to tripod come undone easily. need to be very careful in extending the legs.
To be fair, I didn't have high expectations for a telescope at this price, and what I got met the very low bar I set. There is a lot of stiction in the tripod axis, so pointing the telescope at a specific object is very difficult. The tripod is so rickety that if you touch the scope to adjust focus, the vibrations induced make focusing difficult. The spotter scope is so close to the main tube that I found it difficult to position my eye to look through it. The main scope optics are fair at best. Overall, if you are buying this as a toy for young kids, you may find it a reasonable product for the price. I would not recommend it if you are expecting more than the most minimal functionality.
I purchased this for my grandson's 6th birthday. Reviews looked good. He is very much into science. Unfortunately I had to return the telescope because after numerous tries to get the scope to align properly I could not. You could find things with the site finder but it did not lineup with the telescope viewer. Very disappointed.
