I was having long crank times when the temp was reaching 0. My sparkplugs are Iridiums and my wires are good so I narrowed it down to a fuel filter or water in the line frozen. I went with the easiest remedy and that was adding Heet to my gas. Did that and drove around to make sure the Heet was mixed thoroughly throughout the fuel system. Haven't had a problem since! So I'm not 100% sure it fixed the problem or it was a fluke! I'll definitely use it next winter as soon as it starts reaching into the teens just in case!💯
if you have water in your gas and none of the products that are supposed to help are actually helping, get this ive never had it not work. absolutely a life saver fore multiple times
I use this every winter, never have a problem with icing.
I bought my first bottle of ISO-HEET around 1986 or earlier. I bought it when the YELLOW bottle was the only one you sold. I had a1984 Toyota Corolla and drove it until about 6 years ago. It looked like crap on the outside, but my neighbors commented on how smooth it ran. A little over a year ago, maybe more, I had a neighbor who was having car trouble. The car was stalling out in the middle of the road. She really didn't have money for a mechanic, so, I told her to buy ISO-HEET. She was very skeptical, so I went out and purchased 2 bottles of the Red bottle HEET, and gave it to her free of charge. She was STILL skeptical, but used it anyway. Next time, she gave me the money to buy ISO-HEET. Today, like myself, my neighbor is still using ISO-HEET. She only uses the RED bottle, I still buy them both. We live in Florida.
I only the the very best for my classic Camaro. This is the best. I recommend only the isopropyl product as it's superior to the ethyl alcohol product.
I have a 20 year old car, it is a beat up hand me down car, a lot of things don't work. This HEET helps my car run better, because it takes the Condensation out of my gas tank and helps it run smoother. Especially if I don't drive it for awhile. I put this in my gas tank when filling it up. It works great.
Back when vehicle gaslines were frozen my daughter's wasn't because I urged her to use HEET %26 she stayed mobile. Thank you HEET mfg.
According to YouTube reviews this seems to work the best to remove water so in Marine applications and a little bit water could be detrimental so for the price why not use it.
I was curious on the effectiveness of the product, I conducted a controlled environment experiment, with safety gear at my disposal. I poured a small amount of Heet into a small metal bowl and used a long fire starter to light it. Heet by itself ignited as expected. I then mixed a 50/50 (Heet/Water) mixture and Heet completely mixed with water as one, no separation. I used the fire starter and the mixture ignited, confirming that the mixture would ignite inside the combustion chamber of an engine. After the experiment, I mixed another 50/50 mixture and then poured an equal amount of gasoline to see if there was any separation. The gas and the 50/50 mix remain separated at all times, with the gas being lighter. As expected, the 50/50 mix is heavier and floats to the bottom. Based on this experiment, I believe Heet works as advertised. "Warning, Do Not Try This At Home" I am an experienced technician and used all safety precautions and equipment during the experiment. The experiment was conducted in an open air area with fire extinguishers and personal protective gear was worn at all times.
This product seems to help gas mileage up until it runs out. After that, your gas mileage really isn't that great. I notice a fluctuation over 10-30 miles give or take. Mainly the mileage was better for 2-3 tanks.
