My son was four years old when he received this as a Christmas gift. At first he did experience a bit of a learning curve, but it was so fun to do that he didn't give up and it became his favorite v.smile game. Along with every other v.smile game he has, this has challenged him to learn many great skills that helped to prepare him for kindergarten all while having a blast. The activities for the Jammin' Gym class really get the kids moving, too. Lol - They would break a sweat from playing so much. Great system and this accessory is A+ in my book.
This is great for your childs motor skills and provides a really great workout instead of sitting in front of the tv or playing videos. My daugther is very active and this was a great way for her to use some of that energy.
We bought this product for our 6 yr old daughter since she loves to dance and also has extra energy to burn. It turns out our 6 yr old son and 4 yr old daughter also loves this product. They take turns for hours while it rains outside.
This product is a great way to get your kids to learn and get some exercise at the same time. My 2.5 year old and 6 year old love it. This a great addition to your Vsmile video game system.
My three year old got this for Christmas and really likes it. She is still learning but doing very well. But she has mentioned that she wants more character games. There is only one game that you can play with the mat and its characters are just a boy and girl.
great idea. mediocre graphics. numbers indicating steps very small on TV. exit button too near steps on dance mat. got for my 3 1/2 year old son and he loves the freestyle dance segment but not yet thrilled about the rest as he has a tough time seeing the numbers on the screen and translating them to his feet. i suppose with practice he will learn. if you have more than one child, get more than one mat to prevent pushing, etc. plus, it is great to get the kids to exercise together...even the parents to participate!
Being it was a v-smile product I really thought it would be more geared toward education with some fun in it. My son has problems pressing the correct keys as on screen, sometimes it does not register. I thought it would be better like the rest of thier products.
I purchased this for my 3 1/2 yr old son about a month ago. He is a little intimidated by it but has tried it. He is still a little young for some of the activities and I found it doesn't seem to give as good direction as other Vsmile games and if it takes an adult a few minutes to figure it out it is definately confusing for a preschooler. Some activities were great and I'm still unsure of.
I bought this for my 3 year old daughter. She and my 7 year old daughter have played with it, and they were over it in about 5 minutes. The games on it are not fun, and the dance mat is slow in recognizing what they've stepped on - if it recognizes it at all. They love the other VSmile games, just not this one.
I bought the dance mat as a Christmas present for my daughter. She did not get a chance to play the games on the Smartridge because the enter button on the mat was not being recognized. My daughter loves to sing and dance so I thought this would be a perfect game for her and to my dissappoint it turned out not to be. She loves all of the other v-tech games but this one will be returned back to the store.
