So far I love this machine. A bargain with all the extra feet! Very quiet, good quality at a very reasonable price. Researched prior to buying and found it was highly rated. Happy with purchase!
I had been searching for an inexpensive machine that had the feeding system built in like a walking foot or integrated feed. This one has it. I took it to a quilt retreat and got a lot of perfect sewing accomplished using the quarter inch foot. I have had Janome machines in the past and they are excellent quality.
This is a very nice machine. Is light yet very powerful. I am very pleased with this sewing machine.
This machine is lightweight to take to class, and is easy to navigate.
All I can say at this point is that it arrived on time and appears to be in excellent (brand new) condition out of the box. All the items listed, and there are a lot, were included with the sewing machine as well as an actual paper manual (not a computer disk) which I appreciate very much. I won't have to spend time and money printing it out. It did not come with a table for quilting so I ordered one for it. I'm in the process of resetting up my sewing room so I have not used it just yet. I opened the box and checked to be sure everything was included that was listed and that the sewing machine was the one I ordered and was not damaged in shipment. It was very well packaged and everything was in great shape. I've been sewing, knitting and crocheting since I was a child. I'll be able to sew on it soon. I have high expectations for it after spending many hours reading reviews and considering many models of different brands of sewing machines before choosing my first Janome sewing machine. I'm looking forward to using it for a very long time.
Love this machine! It's super quiet compared to my old machine and has so many more features. I love the auto thread option and start and stop button. My new favorite sewing machine brand for sure!
Great machine. I have bought Brothers in the past and like them, but this one I love. Did buy the Janome pad to put under it as it was louder than my Brothers.
This is my fourth Janome machine. I sew full time and put many, many hours on my machines. Pros: powerful motor; smooth feeding; has features I depend on (like needle up/down, locking stitch, needle right/left, needle threader); quiet operation Cons: the LED light is awful, it casts shadows and has a purple tint; pedal must be unplugged to use the start/stop feature
I just received my 49360 sewing machine - made my first project this week and love the machine. It feels very solid and the renowned Janome high quality is evident in how precise everything works, runs so smoothly, every stitch is perfect. The needle threader felt a little stiff the first 3-4 times I used it compared to the old style, but it loosened up quick and works perfect every time. This machine has the clearest view of the needle area work surface of any machine I've ever had - must be the angle shape of the head. I've used only Janome since 2002. I have two great older models but they don't have all the features of this one, and I just wanted to try something new to have fun with. I went through all the stitches and made a sampler - every stitch was perfect front and back (the eyelet did require one adjustment to close the loop). Remember to go on slow speed when doing decorative stitches. There is an extension table available that fits it, which I already had. My favorite foot for doll clothing is the 1/4" straight stitch foot with the metal edge guide for quilt piecing removed so I don't have to change it out when I need to sew across the fabric. Favorite stitch (so far) is 02 that automatically secures beginning and ending stitches then I use the Scissors. Saves so much time trimming threads. The book recommends pressure of "6" for most sewing, but I have the best luck leaving it on "2" nearly all the time for quilt cottons. I'm loving it more with every day that I use it! PROs : Lightweight Solid construction Smooth running Easy to navigate LCD to change stitches Speed control Ability to use without foot control (I used slow speed and 'run' button to make sampler) Needle up/down memory Pressure control for presser foot Auto thread cutting with Scissors button Lockstitch Adjustable needle-drop position to left and right of center on all straight stitches Starts beginning seam right at the edge of the fabric without making a thread nest like my old machine CONs: Light isn't very bright Gets a little loud when sewing over a thick seam or multiple layers (like 6-8 layers of cotton on a binding) but it keeps on sewing, so that's what counts. Just go slow when you have to cross a really thick seam.
I wonder if i got a faulty machine because i Hate it. It broke several needles and damaged the plate ! I used it very carefuly and followed the manual. It took me too long to contact the walmart and when u did i couldnât return it anymore. The factory charged me to return it to them. So i ended up keeping a crappy machine. Donât make the same mistake i did! Buy something better!
