Love this machine! It works as expected! Will sew thru thick fabrics ! I wanted a machine that would hem my ble jeans and this one fits that category! Would recommend and buy again! Janome is a great product!
Janome HD1000 is a quiet work horse! It hums through heavy fabric layers, has easy button hole making, and adjusts to multiple fabric changes without thread tangles. Best of all, the optional presser foot adapter allows me to use my short-shank presser feet from my old machine. All this and an automatic needle threader, too! I chose mechanical machine to avoid the higher service fees for computerized machines. So glad I did!
I can't say enough about janome. I upgraded from my turquoise hello kitty machine (which I still love), to this beauty. I needed a heartier machine for my business. I am happy happy happy I did. Sews through layers of fabric like a breeze.
The Janome HD 1000 Black Edition is an absolutely wonderful sewing machine. This was a one-and-done purchase, meaning that it came with everything I needed, bobbins, needles, etc. and a few feet including a walking foot. If you've ever tried to buy a sewing machine before you know how big of a deal this is. Furthermore, this machine will be perfect for the projects I want to do, rag quilts in particular, it does wonderfully with heavy fabrics. The foot control isn't sensitive at all so you really need to press your foot on it with purpose, so this takes a little getting used to. Also the instruction book is easy to read and understand. All in all I'm very very happy with this sewing machine. And it's Black!!
Very pleased very smooth machine. Walmart had great shipping and price.
This is a home machine. I needed a machine that could sew in heavy situations. I learned on and have used for 40years a Montgomery Wards which would not work in heavy situations. So far this machine has been able to handle a variety of heavy fabrics with no stalling. While black is sexy(which I fell for) it makes seeing your work a little difficult. I use more lighting than before. I also wanted a walking foot machine. This machine had a foot to simulate a walking foot and it works well. So far I am happy with my purchase.
Love how it sews but being black makes it hard to see ,the light in it doesnt help much, had to add a LED strip light
It is a nice heavy machine that comes with many extras; however it did not live up to all the hype. It was brand new, not refurbished. It did run smoothly but it jammed twice in the first two days of sewing simple quilting cotton. The button hole feature seems a bit flawed as well. As another reviewer mentioned (probably from the amazon reviews) black is cool but it makes it harder to see what you're doing. For over $330 a couple fun stitches would be nice too.
Didn't work, right out of the box. Motor running and nothing moving. Tried adjusting everything possible. Piece of junk. Returned immediately. This is the second sewing machine form Walmart which just didn't work. The first one was a Singer model made exclusively for Walmart.
I didn't like it at all. It was way to picky about fabrics and needles. I spent more time threading and cleaning the bobbin than sewing. I returned it.
