I have bought two of these speakers. The first model with the physical volume rheostat that you rolled with the finger and this model. I bought the first one around 3 years ago and the second about a year after when the rheostat came loose from the potentiometer (which was repaired). At the time I was a cell tower technician; every day I would strap on my harness and climb 200-600 feet up a tower. These little guys accompanied me every day on my hip, swinging and smashing against steel beams and rungs. The boost in productivity from my crew having quality, crisp and clear tunes was unmistakable. I had forgotten about the second one I purchased (IC/model 6132A-JBLCLIP) over the last year. I found it tumbling around in my tool chest. This particular speaker was dropped 350 feet off a tower and is dented, beaten and incredibly warped (hit three beams and a fence post iirc). "What the heck," I figured and hit the power button, not expecting any life or response. Imagine my surprise when it came right on, paired and has been playing music for the last half hour! At LEAST a year and a half, with that kind of damage and it still has a charge and works flawlessly? That's so incredibly impressive I simply had to write this. The amount of sound this little guy produces is incredible; the bass and mids are incredible. The highs are perfectly matched to create an enjoyable session with any music whether it be rap, EDM, metal or even polka and ska. I only wish I still had warranty to get a clean looking one I'm not embarrassed (yet also oddly proud) of using in my current profession. I give the JBL Clip a resounding 10/10, and offer a cake to every member of the development team responsible for this masterpiece.
I bought this a couple of months ago and have been very impressed by the sound and the speaker phone functionality. I didn't realise how much a portable speaker phone that was separate from my mobile would come in handy. I have now used it for a number of conference calls and the audio quality is far superior to my mobile speaker phone. I highly recommend this product. It represents excellent value.
I now own ffour JBL Clips and I am consistently enchanted with the broad range of their sound production. My only quibble is with the newer model which forgoes the power button and the moveable volume control in favor of controls that are flush with the surface of the case. This change makes manipulating the controls in the dark relatively impossible. Otherwise, this product hits the mark inall other categories.
Got as a gift for my birthday. I love it and i use it a lot, especially because i commute to work and school on my bicycle. though i wish the buttons for volume had some type of abration or a dot because i like to keep my eyes on the road rather focusing on looking for the volume keys. Also would it be possible to add a forward and restart button? that would greatly add to the usercfriendly-ness
Amazing sound and so easy to use! Please don't discontinue or change this speaker - it's absolutely perfect the way it is! We now own three and will continue to buy them direct from JBL for friends and family when they're on sale - like they are right now :-)
I love my JBL clip. I clip it to my day pack while I'm on bike rides and connect it to my phone with Bluetooth. I also connect it to my laptop when I'm watching Netflix. It sounds great and the battery lasts a pretty decent amount of time. It's got a pretty deep sound for a small speaker too. The only thing I would like is for it to be just a little louder.
I got this a couple days ago and I'm extremely pleased with it. It's one of the smallest speakers out there, and for its size (fits in the palm of my hand) it has a great punch. I'd like it to be a little louder but that's about all I can criticize about it.
Excellent product you can definitely hear the difference in the quality of song with the JBL clip.

At first I was getting disappointing that the battery wasn't lasting long enough like it was saying in the starters' guide (5hrs). Even if I charged it for 2hrs, it wouldn't last more than 2hrs playing. So I was about to return it and then I had an idea....thinking to myself maybe I should charge it for more at least 6hrs and so I did. I turned it on played it @12 taps (3 quarts full volume) pretty loud...ladies and gentlemen it worked, around 4hrs 05min red light turn on it lasted 4hrs 55min before fully draining the battery. So I highly suggest charging it for at 6hrs or more before using it right out of the package. Just to warm up the battery since its brand spanking new. Oh one more thing you are going to need or buy a "5 volt AC/USB adapter" it doesn't charge good with a computer or laptop. If you have an iPhone, iPad or iPod you can use that AC adapter to charge it. I don't know if other cells have 5 volts AC adapters. Just make sure its a 5 volt AC/USB adapter . You can also use it while charging but don't recommend it because if you want to take it on the road maybe battery won't fully charge. I had lots of trouble turning it on and off cause the starters guide doesn't have any instructions don't know why. So this is how you turn it on. Double tap the power button and to turn it off the same double tap power button. I also suggest if you are using it with an iPhone, iPad or iPod to pair it. Do not let it search by itself. Tap the Bluetooth Paring Button and when it appear select it, because if you don't it will be skipping and stopping all the time. I'm giving this product 4 stars because it need stuff to be included with the product. Here is the list: 1. Instruction or Owners guide 2. Longer USB charging cable 3. A/C USB adapter 4. Carring case or pouch PS yes I'm keeping it, 4hrs is good enough for me.
