Top Features: 1) Connectivity Options - Bluetooth, and dongles, and aux jacks oh my! By far the coolest thing about these headphones is the range of connectivity options and how easy it is to set up them up and switch between them. I was even able to connect the USB 2.4GHz to my television to binge Netflix at night without disturbing the roommates. 2) Comfort - The 800s are super comfortable thanks to some of the softest foam I've ever felt lining the earcups and headband. Despite being relatively heavy for headphones, I've been able to wear these for long stretches without any discomfort. 3) Sound Details - Sound quality in general is great as always with JBL, but I've been particularly impressed with how clear and nuanced the sounds are in a video game context. I feel like video games are often packed with smaller sound details that are easy to miss, but the Quantum 800s really make those details stand out. Biggest Bummers: 1) PC Only for Customizations - My personal computer is a Mac so I don't have any way of accessing the customization features from QuantumEngine. This is a huge bummer as there are definitely times when I really wish I could turn off the lights. Would have been nice if at least some features could be accessed/updated via an app on my phone. 2) Weight / Bulk - relative to other wireless over-ear headphones that I've owned in the past, the Quantum 800s are definitely on the heavier side. They're also pretty bulky and don't really fold or collapse in any way that would make them a good choice for portable headphones. Like I mentioned before, they're super comfortable so the weight isn't really a negative in that regard, just something to keep in mind if you plan on hauling these around with you. Overall very happy with these headphones and would definitely recommend to any PC owners looking for solid sound quality with lots of connectivity options. Its so cool that JBL is getting into the gaming audio system. The Quantum 800s were sent to me. Great packaging and the box itself was cool looking, with all the neon colors. The headphones have a solid quality feeling nothing cheap to it. Great cushioning on the headband very comfortable. The ear cups fit great all around they seem to have some sort of memory foam. The lighting around the ear cups is something new to me but very cool with the customization app. The only down side not negative would be that most of the controls are on one side. Nothing negative just that maybe dividing controls between the 2 ear cups could help. Great connections included which is very helpful. These headphones completely exceeded my expectations! There are three different ways to connect to your console / computer / phone and they are all very easy methods. The battery life is incredible and I love the sound quality. They feel very sturdy, I don't think they will break any time soon. I bought airpods, but these are much better at noise cancelling, are more comfortable, and the battery lasts longer. Overall I am super happy with these headphones!! The audio is crisp and while playing warzone 2.0 or rainbow six siege its my favorite of all time i use them daily and they work like a charm, the only downfall is the bsttery. The battery doesn't last long as 14 hours. I stream and go online around 4 or 5pm and around 10 or 11pm my headset is already notifying me that its gonna die, yet the battery last for about 8 hours total wireless with dongle on playstation 4 and with the RGB Lighting on. If only the battery really last 14 hours. I would of given it a 5 star out of 5. That's why i decided to give 4. But yes even the people that hear my voice say its very very clear. No lag etc.
OMG how can headphone technology have come so far? Super comfortable. Noise cancelling is superior to all my old ones - extremely important to me. Easy on/off mic that pivots out of the way (on a hinge, not just bendy). Bluetooth is seamless. Sound amazing. Looking forward to Club Series for music if they are as good as these for gaming. This head set went above and beyond my expectations. Easy setup plug and connect. So light and comfortable. Definitely exactly what i wanted.
From the first moment of trying them on, I knew these JBL Quantum 800 were going to be just what I was looking for. The headset pulls easily apart to fit to head. They are comfortable, not too tight and just the right amount of cushion. The inside of each ear piece is labeled with a large L & R. My favorite parts of these headphones are the comfort, the speaker that mutes when lifted (and changes color to red when muted), great noise cancelling, blue tooth connectivity, and clear sound. You download the quantum engine and it does its dongle update, after that it makes you plug in the headset to the computer update headset and as soon as you plug in the headset it turns off. apparently you cant use the headset and charge at the same time. and not even update them because the headsets need to be turned on to update. what a joke.
Setup was a process. I could have gotten passed that and been all right. The issue is that every-time you reboot the PC or they shut off to conserve battery you have to repair them, You have to hold the button on the dongle and head set every-time. I have other brands that once paired you just turned on the headset was good to go,I like the JBL sound. In music they are very good with solid bass; In games it was good in wide open spaces. Any conversation had way to much reverb. Much of this may have been able to be corrected, in the settings. However having; to set up, the headset every-time you use them, killed it for me.
