Joe Thornton was the first overall pick in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft and played for the Boston Bruins through the 2005-2006 season, serving as team captain from 2002-2005. The gifted center was traded to the San Jose Sharks prior to the 2006 season and hopes to lead the San Jose Sharks to their first Stanley Cup Championship.
