I used this package in two dishes. It has a mild kick to it, and was just enough to flavor up my recipes - without being overpowering...Will definite use again!
I used to use a store brand hot italian sausage in my spaghetti. A few month ago, I decided to buy the Johnsonville brand because it was ground and without a casing (I also am a fan of their breakfast sausages). After cooking in a separate pan, I dump all of it into the cooked spaghetti and sauce--the flavor is amazing. Now, we never eat spaghetti without this sausage.
this is the one i would have ordered if it was available online.
I love this sausage!! I use it for pizzas, spaghetti, Chili and morning breakfast burritos! The flavor it provides is just out of this world and I find it not too spicy, just right. No other spices need and goes great with garlic. I just recently moved to Austin, Tx and I cannot find this anywhere!! :(
I have been making my lasagne with this for years!! It started out as an experiment but friends and family ask for it for Christmas dinner! I use the cased sausage, I cook enough of them to leave sliced pices thruought the lasagna and the remaining pull out of casing and cook with favorite jar sauce. (Napa valley roasted garlic marinara works so well) just make the lasagna as you normally would. Absolute bomb!!! I just wish they woul make an organic product.
Consistently delicious without being too salty
Please substitute with the hot links if possible. Even medium would be good
I ordered 1-1/2 lbs of plain ground pork. They substituted 1 lb. hot ground italian sausage meat and 1 lb. Chirozo meat. I cannot eat that hot stuff. This does me no good. The plain pork was for a special Touttiere recipe (French Canadian Pork Pie). Even if I could eat it, The pre-seasoned stuff just won't work!
This was a poor substitution for an actual Italian sausage request
As a member of the Hispanic community, I tend to enjoy life on the "Fuego" side, if you know what I mean. That being said, I had high expectations for Johnsonville hot ground sausage. However, after initial consumption, I was thoroughly, disgusted, and my day was ruined. I would not recommend to those who prefer spicy food!
