I bought this 2 months ago and I'm still using it yes it's expensive but it's worth it. It's not full coverage but it is medium and I live medium coverage. I am the last shade of this concealer. Wish they had deeper colors but besides that it's amazing. Not drying under the eyes helping with my dark circles blends easily. Perfect.
I bought three shades of the Cushion Complexion - one for a concealer, one to use as a foundation (where I need it) and a darker shade for contour. The packaging is beautiful - very high end and the product dispenses nicely. Unfortunately, the contour shade was the wrong undertone but the other two are perfect. The lighter shade that I use under my eyes barely creases (I don't think any product is 100% crease-proof) and looks very smooth and natural. The medium shade does a great job covering my rosacea on my cheeks and other little imperfections. And the price is FANTASTIC! Will buy again. P.S. The company stood behind their guarantee and sent me a credit for the dark shade so I could try something else. Excellent customer service!
I absolutely love the convienance of this product! I can throw this in my purse and not worry about a spill or taking up too much room. You don't have to worry about wasting product because of the unique applicator. The formula is super creamy and non drying and it covers like a dream! I have been using it as a full coverage foundation and it's so buildable and leaves my skin looking amazing! I use the color cashmere and I think it's a pretty universal color for other people not sure of what color they may need. It does come in a wide variety of colors which is perfect for finding a match to your skin tone. I can touch up on the go and conceal with no fuss and I am seriously loving this product! I wear new makeup every day for at least a week before reviewing it so I can get an honest feel for how well it wears. That being said, this past week using Julep's Cushion Complexion has been amazing. Granted, I'm an always-exhausted, caffeine addicted, mid 30's working mother of four young kids so my opinion is far from that of a pro makeup artist. I recently realized that I'm still using the same cheap drug store brands that I bought with babysitting money in middle school and should probably expand my horizons to something better, healthier and more flattering though. This adventure led me to applying to try out new makeup on crowdtap and receiving what will now be my go-to foundation: Cushion Complexion 5-in-1. I've been dealing with dark under-eye circles after a week of sleepless all-nighters thanks to a teething baby, compiled with my monthly PMS acne breakout and fine lines around my eyes that I'm self-conscious about so I was skeptical that Cushion Complexion would make me look human. I usually pancake makeup onto my face during weeks like this and walk around like a neutral pallette circus clown. But I followed the examples provided on Julep's Instagram account, dotting my trouble spots with a skin-matching shade (220 Sand) then gentle patted the spots with my finger to blend it with the surrounding skin... and I. Was. Shocked. The redness and dark circles were completely GONE!!! Then I used a lighter shade (200 Nude) in a similar fashion to accentuate my facial features like the ridge of my nose, cheeks and forehead. When I was done I looked like ME, but without the dark circles, puffy redness and fine lines. I looked like well-rested SUPER ME! And the best part is that I can''t "feel" that I'm wearing the Cushion Complexion like my old heavy makeup. It's light, needs minimal application and has a better overall effect than traditional liquid foundation. Plus my skin feels super soft when I'm wearing it. I can't imagine using anything else now! I highly recommend this! I use this every day, mostly for under my eyes. I've gotten many compliments about how beautiful my skin looks when using this product. As a mother of three small children I often look tired and I've had a difficult time finding something for my undereyes that looks right, and this had been it.
I really love this product, but I'm giving it 4.5 stars for a few shortcomings. I got shade 230 Beige. IMO this is an excellent replacement fot a BB/CC cream, but won't replace full-coverage foundation (not enough product to use that much). I'm a CC cream gal myself, so this is right up my alley. I dotted it over my face (concentrating on spots & scarring) and blended it in with a foundation buffing brush (exactly what I do with my CC cream). PROS: Buildable coverage. Natural color that blended in nicely. I have medium skin, not sure about my undertones. I guessed with the color beige and it's a great match. After setting with translucent powder it lasted all day without becoming oily or oxidizing (and I'm prone to oily skin!). I'm hoping this won't break me out. Usually I can see a spot coming to the surface the night after using foundation, but my skin is looking pretty great! Removed cleanly with Julep's Love Your Bare Face cleansing stick. CONS: clung to some dry patches & accentuated fine lines. Now, I didn't heavily moisturize or use primer prior to application, so that may have been on me. This may replace my favorite CC cream, especially if my skin continues to not break out after using it! I think it'd be a great product to take with me when I travel. I don't touch up during the day, but it would fit nicely in a purse if I wanted to carry it with me. Great job, Julep!!!
Love this makeup! So soft, blends in easily. I generally don't wear makeup but I do occasionally. I also just turned 60 so foundations just make me look worse. This stick smoothed my complexion without creasing. I felt myself and glamorous at the annual black tie dinner we attend every year.
I absolutely LOVE this product! I was nervous about which shade to order (debating between two) but the color matching chart was super accurate and helpful as long as you really know your undertones. I usually buy foundation slightly deeper to give me a bit more color but I chose the lighter of the two shades this time & it matched my skin perfectly! The coverage is absolutely ideal to me, sheer enough to still look & feel like your skin (I hate thick formulas that look unnatural or caked on), but it covers enough to even out most of my skintone, any stray blemishes/marks is what concealer is for ladies, foundation should not be doing all the work! It definitely wears well & stays put throughout the day, no smudging or rubbing off easily. In addition to looking great, it's also good to your skin too; my blemish-prone skin is clearer and I'm not waking up with new blemishes each day or huge pores clogged full of makeup. I cannot tell you how much I love this product, however I have to give it 4 stars instead of 5 bc I'm not a huge fan of the applicator & how little product you actually get in this small twist tube. It's cute in theory, but not practical whatsoever. As much as I love it, I save it for “special” days now bc I would burn through these tubes wearing it everyday. I'd rather be paying for more product in generic packaging than paying for some over-designed applicator that I have to twist to high heaven & dot on my face 100x bc it despenses out like molasses. Not to mention its really not very hygienic due to the fact that the applicator has to come in contact w the skin which can collect & spread bacteria over time bc the tip can't be properly cleaned & disinfected. I'd love to buy every shade for my MUA kit but theres no way I could use one tube on multiple clients in a sanitary, practical way. Keep the formula, ditch the packaging PLEASE!!!
The product itself works for me. The color linen is a nice brightening color for my skin and it blends well and provides enough coverage. I am not a fan of the applicator. It's a nice idea to be able to just quickly swipe on the amount you need, but in reality, it does not swipe on smoothly. Then the brush cracked within a few weeks of use and has progressively become more and more broken until it's almost falling off now and I have a fair amount of product left. Maybe I just got a defective piece? But it is affecting my decision to repurchase because I don't want this to happen again. I think I'll just stick to my bare minerals foundation...
I don't see what all of the hype is about. First of all the tip of the applicator came off with the FIRST use even though I was being careful with it. Secondly, the color was way lighter than the pics and third it just made a cakey mess under my eyes. Worst purchase I've made in a long time.
