Nice ruler for cutting strips, sashing, binding and squaring up odd sized quilt pieces. Thick and durable. I didn't expect to like it as much as I do. Sometimes it's a little difficult to set my rotary blade down in a slot if it isn't completely level, such as when I set my cutting mat on my ironing board and the top hangs off.
Making my first quilt and was struggling with cutting the fabric until i received the slotted ruler. Perfect measurements and precise cuts, it made quilting a pleasure instead of a chore.

Game changer for cutting strips of fabriv
Despite not having ever made a quilt, I found myself working with a small group to make quilts for a world relief organization. Little by little, I am learning and I saw this recommended in a video. I immediately did a search for it and found a very good price . There are slots every half-inch so you can cut strips from half-inch to 12 inches in half-inch increments. This ruler makes it easy to cut strips quickly and accurately forstrip quilting, sashing, borders, binding and blocks. I have not yet explored all the ways it can be used. It is well worth having in your ruler collection. Having the right tools sure makes things easier.
While I was viewing a video online the lady said she bought the product at Walmart. I went to Walmart and the price was a little high so I went online and found it $38 cheaper on Walmart's website. Therefore I ordered it online and picked it up. I didn't realize I could have done a price match right there in the store.
I am new to sewing %26 quilting and needed to trim squares. I bought this ruler and it helped me tremendously. I love using it to cut all of my sewing pieces. I highly recommend it.
It doesn't have enough measuring lines for me. I have a 6" ruler that's far superior to this one. I'm actually thinking of returning this one for something else.
I like the slots for cutting but wish it had more markings such as quarter inch measurements. Also wish it was 12 1/2 instead of just 12 inches on each side. Still deciding whether to keep it. (Note it isn't 16 x 16.5 as listed.)
