I BOUGHT THIS GATE TO KEEP MY 2YR. OLD AWAY FROM MY COMPUTER. WE ARE USING IT AS A ROOM DIVIDER. WE ATTACHED IT TO THE WALL AND THEN TO A HEAVY SHELF AND FOR SUPPORT IN THE MIDDLE ON THE PLAYROOM SIDE I TIE WRAPPED A TABLE TO IT SO HE CAN NOT SHAKE THE GATE. I'M GOING TO BUY THE SMALLER ONE TO KEEP HIM OUT OF MY KITCHEN WHILE I'M COOKING. EVERY MOM NEEDS THIS GATE

I used this to block my kitchen from the living area, it is big enough and what I like tho most about it is that, when not in use I can easliy make it smaller and it swings like a door so its not in the way. The price is well worth it instead of paying double for the plastic ones.

good gate for wide opening

I am very happy with this gate. It was easy to install in a doorway with wood on both sides. The instructions were not very easy to follow though! It is pretty sturdy and the price was good for the size of gate. The latch that opens and closes the gate is a little difficult to use, but with training my almost 5 year old is able to use it. You do have to be careful that babies fingers are out of the way before opening the gate so they don't get pinched. I like that it slides all the way open so it is (pretty much) out of the way when it isn't being used. I do wish that they had made it so that the gate could easily be removed completely from the wall though. When opened the gate is about 2' wide and will swing in either direction. Not the most attractive gate, but I did purchase it for safety and price, not asthetics.

The expansion gate was just what we was looking for to fill the space we needed to keep our 10 month old from entering our kitchen. The price was very affordable and didn't take very long to install.Their was many more to choose from but the price was very economical. Thanks again for Wal-Mart.

My husband and I searched everywhere online for a gate wide enough to span the opening between our living room and dining room that didn't cost a fortune. I was actually pleasantly surprised with how sturdy the gate is, and the center support leg works great since we have carpet. I don't think it would be as great for tile. My only problem is with the top latch...I have a very hard time getting it opened and closed. My husband doesn't seem to have the same trouble I do. And the good thing is that my four year old and 10 month old have no hope of opening it! Great value!

I bought this gate to to give my puppy the freedom to come and go in and out of the garage to the back yard. I love this gate. Now I do not have to keep her on a leash in the garage. It also keeps any of the neighbors dogs out of there. I have a single car garage and it fix perfect. We can even swing open the gate to get the car and mower in and out. Thank you agian for making a sturdy and functing gate that is affordable.

Not for tile floors

Product is great for the size it expands to. Unfortunately on a tile floor the middle foot will NOT hold steady. Had to return. On carpeting, great product.

I bought this gate b/c the opening of our dinning/kitchen and living room is HUGH! It was the only gate under a 100.00s that I could find...and trust me I SHOPPED around! Anyways it has done it's job of keeping my rowdy 3yr old and nosey 10 month old out of my kitchen. My husband & I set it up(it was complicated at first)in about 30mins. After we figured out how it worked it made things go alot faster and made it easier. I really don't have much of a complaint b/sides it is really tall(which is great!!) but sometimes a pain if all you need to do it step over it to put a cup in the sink and come right back. At this time ours is only about 2 months old and so it is alittle hard to open and close back....but we are finally starting to get the hang of it!! I LOVE the fact that you can push it out of the way when you don't need it. Also it comes with this thing that is a plastic holder that you have to screw in to your floor(ours is in our carpet). I don't remember seeing that when I decided to purchase it. We tired not to use it for the first day and then we had to. Just to let you know it is what keeps the gate from moving in the center and it makes it alot more sturdier!!! I don't think you have to use it if your not need to gate to cover a large opening. But I do recommend it. Over all I am really grateful that I decided to get this gate. It has definitely met my expectations, and for the price WOW it is awesome!!!

A useful gate at a fair price

I've had this gate for about 2 weeks now. I've been using it to section off a play area for my 20 month old and using it at almost the full width. It was a little bit of a challenge to install. Because the gate is so long, you really need a second pair of hands to help you. I'd highly recommend you anchor it in the wall studs, too, again due to the length. At first my daughter tried to climb up on it and drag it down, but she soon realized that it flexed but didn't fall down. Overall, I think this is a good gate for the price because it's the best price I could find for the width and it didn't require any extensions.

I bought this because I had a large opening I needed to close off and this was the only gate that was wide enough. I am not particularly fond of the look of it but it does the job. It is fairly sturdy and not too hard to install. It was pretty pricey for the quality but it was the cheapest one I found. My opening is 106 inches wide. I would definitely buy another one for a large opening. The latch is hard to work but hopefully over time it will get a little easier. At least a child won't be able to open it! Overall I am comletely satisfied!
