Snap crackle pop

The Kellogg's Rice Krispies twenty ounce box arrived in a very timely manner. I love these, I love it when you pour in the milk and it starts to make the popping sound. It takes me back to my childhood, I would be sitting there eating my cereal and the commercial would come on the television and the jingle would start, and of course you had to sing along, then it would get stuck in my head, Snap Crackle, Pop Rice Krispies. Then I would sing it over and over. My grand daughter loves them, she puts her head towards the bowl and listens then starts laughing and laughing, as soon as I get a bowl she says want some please, it is so cute. So would I recommend them to my family and or my friends yes I would.

When I got my Rice Krispies Cereal I had never eaten this cereal before. I found it very flavorful with the lightly sweetened toasted rice grains, and the sound was interesting,{snap, crackle, pop}. I was very surprised at how such a simple cereal was so good. Personally I added a little extra sugar for my own preference. Kellogg's Rice Krispies are only 130 calories per every 1 1/4 cup, and each piece is made from a single toasted grain of rice, which is the easiest grain to digest so it is gentle on my digestive system. The cereal contains several vitamins and protein along with potassium. Rice Krispies Cereal is a healthy choice for anytime of the day or night. One serving contains only 4 grams of sugar and 0 grams of fat. It can be eaten alone of topped with fruit or your favorite topping. I found that the cereal with the milk added, really does make the snap, crackle, pop sounds as the commercials claimed. How fun is that! Also, I was able to find on the internet a website www.ricekrispies.com/recipes. On this website are all of the Kellogg's Rice Krispies products in a variety of flavors that are available. They also have innovative and creative fun recipes. This is a very simple and tasty product that I enjoyed very much. I would recommend Kellogg's Rice Krispies Cereal for adults and children alike.

Rice Krispies Review It is very hard to think of Rice Krispies cereal without thinking of Rice Krispies Treats. For this review I am very glad to have the pleasure to try out this very well-known cereal just as a cereal and of course as an ingredient in the Rice Krispies treats that I ended up cooking and as a snack. So to describe the cereal. There are no trans fats or saturated fats in this cereal. In fact, there are no fats at all in this cereal. The first vitamin and mineral ingredient is iron which is noteworthy. My family has loved this cereal for many years. As I mentioned earlier, besides enjoying it with milk as a breakfast cereal (sometimes with fruit), I have just enjoyed this cereal as a snack. I put about half a cup in a snack bag, sometimes adding some healthy nuts (cashews preferably) and I am set for a good snack to enjoy. Lastly, there is nothing like making Rice Krispies Treats to have to snack on or to share with the family. I think of needing a snack and this Rice Krispies come to mind of what my mind knows will fit the bill. I usually make a batch and cut them in squares and wrap them in saran wrap for better storage. However, they never last long in my house.

Who doesn't love Rice Krispies! I grew up on Rice Krispies, my kids grew up on Rice Krispies and now my grandkids are growing up on Rice Krispies. Its so cool to hear snap, crackle and pop; and you truly do hear it. My grandkids love waiting to hear the sounds. I am very health conscious of the food I eat and the sugar I eat. I love that Rice Krispies has only 4 grams of sugar per serving and that's important to me. It taste great and you can add fresh fruit for more added benefits. When I choose to have the sugar I love to make Rice Krispies Treats...those great marshmallow deserts. There is many variations to add to the Rice Krispies Treats. You can add food coloring to making the color more appealing and m & m 's, skittles, chocolate chips, peanut butter, and you can go on and on. You can also add flavorings like mint, strawberry, banana etc to the marshmallow for different flavors and kids love them!! I have bought cheaper brands and they just don't taste the same. I like to use it as a breading on chicken. You just crush the Rice Krispies and add some spices with it so its like a breading for chicken. Got to love me some Rice Krispies!

Excellent Cereal for many years

I've been eating Rice Krispies for many years now and still love the taste. The snack, crackle, pop makes this variety of Kellogg's cereals one of there mainstays. Love the lightness of the cereal without all the sugar. I usually don't like to add sugar on cereal anyway. I've been purchasing this cereal for a long time and will continue to purchase in the future. One suggestion when purchasing online is to always check the quantity of the package. That makes all the difference in the world for pricing. Walmart has simplified this process by giving the price per ounce. This was a welcome feature for me so when I order online I am more aware as to which size and the price per ounce. As this is a 12 oz. box it is more on the smaller size compared to the 18 oz. size. Love the cereal and the snap, crackle, pop commercials.

I loved this stuff since I was a kid. My parents didn't buy into all the fancy or flavored cereals out there, except for a rare treat on a special occasion. It was always just the basic cereals, corn flakes, those toasted "O"s, oatmeal, & Rice Krispies. I tasted these also along with their sugar frosted version. I put sugar in my non-sweetened cereal anyway. The regular Rice Krispies, after I added my own sugar, tasted the same as the frosted Rice Krispies. Nutritionally, a bowl of these have 25-35% of the minimum adult requirements of many essential nutrients. Not bad for a non-super fortified regular cereal. I'm not a big guy, but even I need at least 2 bowls in the morning to make it until lunchtime. So 2 of them boosts it up to 50-70% of many of the nutrients I need for the whole day. I found it odd though that the regular kind boasts 50% of the minimum nutritional adult requirement for iron & folic acid, where the frosted version only has 30%. Could that much nutrient be displaced just by the sugar? I'm happy to see in the ingredient list, that it wasn't a long list of strange ingredients, & chemicals. Maybe this is one of the reasons my parents only got Rice Krispies & a very few other cereals. It's great for lunch, late night snacks, or even munching on dry in front of the TV or computer too. There's no law that says it has to be just for breakfast. I had the rare joy to be snacking on the frosted Rice Krispies dry the other night in front of the TV. Wow that was tasty. Just make sure you have something to wash that dryness down with. I may get the frosted version again for an economical but healthy TV snack. I've had the regular kind dry as a TV snack, but the frosted was so much better for that purpose. The photo I included is of the nutritional info on the side of the box. I guess my phone doesn't take close-ups of small print well, but it is readable.

Kellogg's Rice Krispies Cereal is great! I don't know if it is really a healthy cereal to eat, but my son and husband will be eating this cereal or I will make rice krispy treats out of it! I like a cereal where you can use it for more than just eating cereal. I know you could also use this Kellogg's Rice Krispy Cereal in preparing a meal. I have taken this cereal before and crunched it up and have used it like breadcrumbs when making/baking my chicken breast. There is a recipe that calls for mayo, breadcrumbs and other ingredients, but if you don't have the breadcrumbs this cereal works just as well. I would recommend this cereal to everyone. I also like the Kellogg's Rice Krispy Cereal tv ads and I like how they make this popping sound when you make a bowl of cereal and pour your milk on it! Oh and adding a couple teaspoons of sugar to it is good too. Sweetens it because other wise, the cereal does have a bland taste to it! Kids love this cereal! Enjoy!

CRISPIN GOOD :-)

Hard to believe this cereal has been around since 1928 and still tastes great! I've loved eating Rice Krispies since the 50's, and especially making rice crispy treats with marshmallows, peanut butter, honey, and chocolate. I even found a delicious cookie recipe online using this cereal, called "Tutu's super crispy sugar cookies" from a grandmother in Hawaii. The only problem I have eating cereal is having to eat it up fast enough before it goes soggy. I've always been curious as to how Kelloggs makes that snap, crackle, and pop, cus I've never heard it in any other. So I googled, and found out that it's cooked at a high temp., to make a very strong bond, that holds the rice's starch molecules together. While it is cooking, each piece of rice expands, and air filled caves and tunnels form inside. When milk is poured on, it puts pressure on the air inside, and pushes it around. The air shoves against each until it shatters like glass, causing the snap, crackle, and pop :-)

Part of a Family Tradition

Reviewed in the USA on 2015-04-03T17:00:00

For more than 50 years, my family has used Rice Krispies. But we never eat it as a cereal; we use it to make Rice Krispies Treats. Nobody in my family likes it for breakfast; it's bland unless you drown it in sugar or chocolate milk, and then it's not very healthy. You only need three ingredients: Rice Krispies, a 10-ounce bag of mini-marshmallows, and 1/4 cup real butter. Butter every pan this stuff touches; it's like glue. A 12-ounce box will make 2 batches of treats. You can substitute peanut butter for butter in the recipe. I have used both Kellogg's Rice Krispies, and the store brand. We can't tell the difference, and the store brand costs less. The reason I gave it four stars out of five is the higher price. Still, there's nothing else quite like it, and it will remain a family tradition.
