This is actually the 2nd one we purchased. My husband backed up through the 1st one (he has a truck and didn't see the fence). It works well for what we need (keeps my toddler in the yard and away from the road). An important tip - my husband tied the top portion of the stand to the house (using a bent piece of metal), because otherwise the stand would always bend and the fence would not roll up nicely.
I love this gate!!!!! It helps to stop balls and kids on scooters. More importantly it has set boundries for my kids so they don't go into the street. They ask for the gate now when they go out to play. It is the best thing! I have gotten more compliments on it from parents. Our entire neighborhood knows about it.
This is rally a super item. It is easy to put up and take down and guards our granddaughter against going out of the driveway.
Works as described. Provides a safer environment for children playing in the driveway. Ideal for homes that have a front fence on both sides of the driveway -- the driveway guard would serve as an extension of that front fence when installed.
Works great at end of my driveway keep kids away from busy road. They can safely ride their bikes and it keeps the balls from rolling out onto road. My 4 year old twins even pull gate across themselves everytime they go in driveway to play. It provides a safe boundary for them.to play.
This would have been a super product but the 18' range was just not enough. I purchased two of these because Walmart had the lowest price. I was a bit disappointed that they didn't carry the 25' ones. Also, it was extremely hard digging at least an 8" hole into our very hard, and rocky ground. (Only to find out that it was too short. I did like the fact that it was retractable but I did have trouble getting it to retract back straight. I had to keep on pulling it back out and straightening it. I actually plan on rigging up my own driveway guard using orange plastic snow fencing. Only about $25.00 for that! LOL!
I purchased this product to use as a barrier in my back yard--I wanted to keep my son away from the pool equipment. It was super easy to install and it has served it's purpose well. The only drawback is that if the space you are using it for is less than 18 feet, it is easy to pull down and climb over. Other than that, I think the product is great. In fact, I bought a second one to use in the backyard and the drieway.
Great product- we use this at the end of our driveway on a somewhat busy street. Our three year old understands not to go past it- great physical reminder. Best price was at Walmart for this product. Only thing that I found to be a problem is that it does not retract completely once used- it retracts ALMOST completely but leaves about one foot that is not retracted back after you are done using it- but overall very happy with this product.
We bought this product because we have a very long driveway and had concerns that my son would ride into the street. It was very easy to install and the bright orange color makes it visible to cars driving by. Its a little pricey for what you get since this is probably something you could put together yourself with some posts and snow fence, but the retractable feature is nice for storage. As I mentioned, this is a little pricey, but you certainly can't put a price on your child's safety. I would highly recommend this product.
We have a basketball net at the corner of our driveway and the road. The driveway slants down so I got this net to stop the ball and prevent my children from running into the road. It does slow the ball and my kids do not cross the fence as it is a visual barrier. Is is rather flimsy, the center of the net sways down (not taught like the photo) and the retractable mechanism stopped working after the first use. So it retracts a little then I have to wind it around the other pole. So it is OK but could be much better made.
