It took about two hours to install the Jack antenna, power supply and Surelock signal finder. The results were excellent, increasing the number of channels I received where my RV is parked from zero to twenty. The ability to rotate the antenna while monitoring the Surelock signal strength indicator helps maximum the ability of the antenna to pull in usable signals. One note about hte installation. Make sure the short extension that is attached to the Jack when you receive it protrudes far enough through the ceiling of your RV to attach the inside mount with the Surelock BEFORE actually attaching the antenna to the roof of your RV.
Great antenna. No need to worry about cranking down before we drive our truck camper from campgrounds. Far better than old style rv antenna. Extremely light. We would highly recommend it to anyone.
Easy to install, picked up more channels than my previous Windguard antenna.
First and foremost, installation was very easy. Although I had to cut a bigger hole. After installing the unit and turning it on, I picked up channels that I had never picked up before in front of my house. The LED tuner lights makes it so much easier to find a signal as well. I don't have to keep doing channel searches every time I turn the antenna.
Ordered the Jack & installed it myself. Had to enlarge the hole thourgh the roof & replace some insulation. Have tried it on both Tv's & works great. Haven't had the chance to check out how the cable hook up works. Nice profile so shouldn't be a drag on the airflow.
best antenna for over air tv for rv's.
This product does not look like Walmart special run junk. Like much of the electronics that they sell. This one looks like the same gear sold by all vendors. Product arrived in a timely fashion. The price was right. Thanks Sam!
I reviewed the antenna on-line for about two months before deciding to purchase one. Removing the existing antenna was harder than installing the new one. The instructions were very good, and it took about one hour to install once the area was cleaned of old chaulk. The one thing I would add would be to purchase the base plate designed for this antenna. It covers up any holes left from old installation.
We had one of these on our prior motorhome and loved it. We just finished installing the new one on our new (used) motorhome. we went from having to crank up an antenna and getting four stations to turning this one on and picking up seventy stations. Good investment and simple to install.
The only thing I have experience in the last week is: There is no need to crank it up or down. The signal meter that is mounted on my RV ceiling has little LED lights that light up as you lock in on a antenna tower. I have not yet had two of the four lights illuminate. Listening to TV now is horrible on most channels, but not all. The signal cuts in and out and the screen freezes, comes back.. Not impressed. I so wished I had not changed from the manufacturer antenna. It worked much better and had a longer range. I had the "T" style crank up and down style previously, if you will. If this didn't require more new holes in my roof, it would be off and going back. I went from getting 32 channels with the factory antenna to 22 with this "new amplified" antenna. I am really disappointed and just want other to know that new holes in your roof and ceiling are required, but not worth it. Keep what you have!
