This Classic KitchenAid machine looks beautiful in my kitchen. It brews a an astounding number of various European-style espressos; each one is topped with a beautiful crema. It is heavy and, I believe, well-built. The base is metal, as one may expect; However, I am somewhat disappointed that the top of the machine, from the silver border up, is plastic. My KA mixer is not metal and plastic, and, since this machine has a similar profile, I should expect it to be all metal like the stand mixer. Further, although it has a place on top to set 2 cups, there is no element to warm them. Also, I wish I had control of the coffee's temperature setting; it isn't warm enough. Finally, The milk frother makes creamy, frothy, light foam which is delicious.
This is one purchase I do not regret at all. I love that I can make one cup of coffee at a time, and, if I have a second cup, it can be a totally different taste sensation. The Coffe, Nespresso, is European with the little dollop of 'crema' on top. It's especially nice when I have guests over; each individual can select the type of coffee that they want and then try another. It's invariably leads to to interesting 'coffee talks.' The style, color, and design of the machine adds panache to my kitchen. My only complaint: the water reservoir is at the rear, so no matter where you place the machine, you have to do a lot of pulling, pushing, moving. Further the reservoir is extremely difficult to remove when it needs refilled. It is made out of plastic which I am certain will break, or I will dislocate my shoulder tugging at it to remove it from the machine. One design flaw: The coffee cup warmer on top of the machine should actually work and warm the cups rather than to serve merely a decorative feature. I like form and function. If you are going to add an element to your design, make it functional.
This machine lives up to the best of both worlds- solid piece of Kitchen Aid equipment and exceptional quality of Nespresso machinery. The only downside is that I maybe used to drink 1-2 cups of coffee a month, and I am now having 1 every morning haha (so not really a downside... just a new addiction). But in all seriousness, I was slightly concerned because I had heard the lever was super strong/overkill and had a tendency to crush the pods, but after going through 3 sleeves of pods thus far, I haven't experienced that at all. I'm not sure what people were doing to have that experience- as long as you drop the pod in as instructed, it falls into a little grip and operates smoothly. Seems like you'd really have to go out of your way to do something wrong/mess it up. Biggest compliments I've gotten (from fellow nespresso-ers and friends) was the look. It's cool that it's a one of a kind style which I think blends a look of a fancy nespresso with the flare of a classic “Kitchen Aid look” - gives bragging rights amongst my friends of having the coolest looking nespresso. The design of this machine really suits my kitchen, and is similar to the top of my stand mixer. The size selection allows me to change the strength very easily. Large reservoir is great for the amount of coffees I make.

I love my Kitchenaid espresso machine, it has been a beautiful addition to my small coffee bar! I've had it for just over a year now. Some might say it's a bit loud but I don't know if there is one that's quiet. It continues to make the perfect cup of espresso, just as it did on the first day that I used it.
We had been using our Nespresso U for over 3 years when we noticed it seeming to slow down a little bit, and we started keeping an eye out for a new machine. We stumbled across a great deal on this KitchenAid Nespresso bundle at a Sur La Tab and I fell in love with the Candy Apple Red. It is really great! In addition to being beautiful to look at, it feels very heavy duty and high quality. It's also nice that this one has a much larger water reservoir so now I don't have to fill as often. The milk frother was a nice bonus- a morning latte is so easy now. I couldn't be happier!
This machine is quite possibly the best one out there for the original Nespresso capsules!! Heavy duty construction, easy of use and a Nespresso milk frother to boot! So so happy with my purchase. If I could say one negative, is that it's rather noisy when brewing, but still the best cuppa I have ever had at home!
I bought this machine because it was a beautiful red nespresso maker. I love the way it makes a perfect espresso. However, the water tank is very difficult to remove. After several used, it got stuck and by the time I got it removed part of the tank broke off. Since it was only 3 months old, I called Kitchen Aid customer service. I was very disappointed to be on hold for over an hour before I could talk to a representative. She was very nice but said that they can't send me a water tank alone. She stated that they will send me a replacement machine. That was over 2 months ago. Still don't have the machine yet. I'm not calling back because I don't want to wait on the phone for another hour. I searched online to buy the water tank for the machine but not able to find one. The beautifully crafted machine now sit in the closet. I have all my appliances from Kitchen Aid but this is the first horrible experience.
Just arrived today and the water tank wouldn't come out and when it finally did, the handle and the plastic behind it snapped off. Then when we tried to use it, none of the settings were correct so it was only putting out about 1-2oz on any setting and not even consistently. Never had a problem with any kitchen aid product before until this.
