I read the manual like a good boy, it was short and most things are obvious. Instead of shifting the flower I just used a whisk to blend in the salt so to fluff it up a bit to break up any clumps of flour and to add air before adding the eggs and water. You will need a drying rack before you start. Cleaning the parts was easier than I had originally expected.
This is the first attachment I have bought to use with my Kitchen Aid stand mixer. My son wanted to learn how to make my spaghetti and meatballs and asked if we could try making pasta for the first time. These tools made it so easy we may never get store bought spaghetti again. Loved the tools that made this moment with my son wonderful and memorable. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Made spaghetti with my nieces and we had so much fun! The process was easy and our spaghetti was delicious! You his will become a new family tradition!
I have always used my Grandmother's past machine, with the hand crank. I received this Kitchen Aid pasta attachment as a gift and was hesitant to use it. The you tube videos were very helpful. I made 2 lbs of pasta from start to finish in las than an hour, with no difficulties. The pasta was excellent! My Grandmotber would be impressed, if she was still with us
This was a gift from my wife and I to, umm well, my wife and I. We always like trying to try and make food from scratch and this had been on the bucket list for years. But like most things we wanted kept postponing, but this Christmas we caved and bought the 3 piece Pasta Roller. Thank goodness. It has been an absolute treasure not just for my wife and I, but our kids as well. Simply and easy cleanup is done while you rest noodles after cutting. The pasta roller has not only brought better quality food into the house it is a gathering point for the family. My whole family thanks you for this attachment.
I LOVE my pasta maker! I am so happy to be able to make homemade pasta in minutes. SO much better than store bought. I made healthy whole wheat pasta and my kids chowed down. They would never touch the store bought kind. Excellent investment. I did the math also and it cost me less than $0.90 for a 1.25 lb batch. So saving money too!
it was simply an amazing experience learning how to use this great tool to help in the kitchen, I was very hesitant to purchase attachments but because of my niece she made the family lasagna it was amazing the taste the texture awesome. She explained to me that the attachments were well worth the money! so went out and purchased them and I just love them user friendly and easy clean up the best noodles I have every tasted.
Very easy to use and clean. The pasta recipe provided is good also. I had to add a bit more water than it called for Very happy with this purchase
The lingune cutter and pasta roller worked great and the pasta was very good. It did take a bit to get the hang of the whole process. YouTube videos helped a lot. The description said I would also get a fettuccine attachment but it was a spaghetti one, which I didn't care for because the noodles were too fragile and seemed to really stick together much more than the other. After a weekend of pasta making, I decided to return it. Each piece (3) are made very well but I couldn't justify $163.00 for pasta, even if it was homemade. So I guess if a person could justify the price it is a good product to have. When I picked it up at my Wal-Mart store (online order) the packaging and box were really torn up and I was hesitant about accepting it but the equipment itself survived. I also wanted to share my "perfected" recipes. I found that using half semolina and half all purpose OR whole wheat flour works the best. I found Bob's Red Mill semolina flour at Schnuck's. I also use eggs and olive oil in my recipe. I didn't want to spend $30 + on a drying rack so I purchased a sweater drying rack for 10 bucks. As you can see it worked very well.
So disappointed - this worked wonderfully for several years but when I last used it the plastic inside of the roller cracked and started shredding the pasta. I see from the reviews that this has happened to other people and that it is not repairable. I'm not sure if you can just buy the roller separately, but it seems a shame to just throw this one away.
