Great Espresso Maker

I purchase this new unit about a month ago to replace my OLD KitchenAid Pro Line Series Espresso Maker. I also have always use my excellent Pro Line Grinder to process the espresso grounds I order from Buon Giorno Roastery here in Texas. Both my wife and I, have always loved and always will, enjoy our daily espresso. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

My husband bought this as a Christmas gift for me and I loved it!!! Makes great cappuccinos and a great cup of coffee!!! It's not as easy as the Kitchenaid nespresso ( I have that one also) but once you get the hang of it it so worth it. Plus I get to use my own coffee beans. And it has a gorgeous look to it!!! Another great product from kitchen aid. I have several products from kitchen aid i love the look they produce and quality of each product. I have never had an issue with any of my kitchen aid appliances. The Espresso machine is manual which i love so i have full control over my brews. Got this last night fired it up this morning and Bam just like i went to the local coffee shop absolutely great taste in my americano. Highly recommended for even a new user to espresso machines with easy to follow directions. Now i need to purchase the Burr Grinder and i will be all set. Alos planing on switching my range dishwasher and fridge out before long with KitchenAid products.

I have been using it for a little over 3 months and it started getting fog in the glass, also the buttons are sticking to the back like it there was acummulated steam, I hope is just mine and it's a manufacturing or seal issue [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

A Bit Disappointed

I received this espresso maker a month ago. While it does a decent job, I expected more. The pressure gage for espresso barely gets into the ready range, and I get a lot of water with the steam. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

lack of temperature control ruins an otherwise solid espress

Although this espresso maker has a lot going for it, it doesn't deserve the "Pro Line" moniker without temperature control. My first impressions of the espresso maker were quite positive. Each component - from the tamp to the machine itself - felt substantial and well-made. They even included little extras like a brush for cleaning up grounds and a railing around the top of the machine so that items placed there (they recommend putting cups there for warming) do not easily fall. The only thing that seemed out of character with the high-quality build was the water reservoir, which didn't really latch into place in any way. I think this was probably an intentional design decision to make refills easier, but it seemed a little strange that there wasn't even a ridge to make it feel securely engaged. This, however, was a minor complaint in what otherwise seemed to be a very solid machine. I read through every step of the instructions before I attempted to make my first espresso. Then I referenced them again as I walked through the process. When the first attempt turned from rich brown to watery after just a few seconds, I assumed that I just needed more practice. So, I tried again and again and again for over an hour. I got a few pulls that were serviceable enough to make a mediocre latte - with the milk to espresso ratio masking the subpar espresso - but not one attempt resulted in anything close to a drinkable espresso. I read through the troubleshooting tips. When nothing in the manual seemed to work, I started looking online. I adjusted my grind. I adjusted my tamping technique. The one critical factor I could not adjust (and my main complaint about this machine) was the temperature. Although the manual and the online resources all talk about the importance of the right temperature, this espresso maker has no mechanism for controlling or even measuring the temperature of the water. Issues w/ Taste of Water

Reviewed in the USA on 2017-04-01T17:00:00

Overall, a good machine. This is my second one, for a second home. I was dismayed to find that the water coming out of this one tasted like 70% rubber and 30% wet dog. Am still trying to use decalcifier and hoping for the best, but so far, no luck. :( The only other thing about this machine that isn't perfect (aside from the rubber taste) is that the milk steamer could be a little beefier. It runs out of steam now and then. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
