I wish I wouldn't have purchased small balls and other cat toys, since she prefers to play with this and not the loose balls and toys. I have not put together the Kitty City Tower yet, so it is laying on the floor. I am hoping the refills for the scratching part in the center are easy to find and not too expensive.
This item I added as a after thought. Best thought I ever had. Hooks on easy, easy clean and the cats luv it. I have 6 kitty city items and can move this one toy from one side to the other. My cats will hunt the whole set looking for this toy. Very sturdy and the hooks are easy to use.
I showed my cat how to play with this twice and she took it from there. She absolutely loves it.
Personally I loved this toy but alas, my cat does not pay it much attention! It is made well and since he likes to chase bottle caps and put them in my shoes, I thought he'd like this too. Who can figure them out though really!? I gave it high reviews because it is no fault of the product that my spoiled cat is so darn picky! He loved the box that it came in though. He can't get enough of that I must say. He is persnickety and that it that! He is a cat! Meow..
I have 3 cats, ranging in ages from 3 years to 10 years, and the younger cats love this toy, the older cat just kind of looked at it, batted it once or twice, and then walked away. I'm not sure what function the small ball has, other than for a kitten, maybe. The cats ignore it, and go for the ball inside the track. I guess part of the fun is that the whole assembly never stays in one place and they end up swatting the ball then chasing the whole toy across the room.
My cat really gives himself a workout chasing the ball around in this. It's one of his favorite toys. Definitely worth the money!
Both of my cats (one kitten and one 9yr. old adult) play with this product for hours on end. They love it!
My kitten loves the ball track. Sometimes my older cat just lays on it after hitting it around a bit. Lots of fun for the cats.
The kitties love it! They chase the ball round and round. Sometimes the cats will get on oposite sides and bat it back ond forth to each other. They like to scratch on the cardboard roll thats in the center and play with the toy almost daily... It works best laying on the floor though. The vendor shows this toy attached to the "kitty city tower" (which I have), but it falls off TOO easily. I have even tried making my own alterations to the straps that come with it, but it just doesn't work well. I think they enjoy it in the floor the most anyway though. So, I still consider it worth buying. Just not as an addition to the tower.
If you read my other reviews of Kitty City products you'll see I'm not at all thrilled with them. This item however was the only one of all of them my cats showed any real interest in. However, there are still problems with it. For one, it's nearly impossible to keep the thing attached to the framing of the Kitty City units using the little clamps it comes with. And sometimes the Velcro strips get in the way of the ball and block its movement. I ended up putting it on the floor. Problem with that is it's so lightweight the whole thing slid around on the tile floor. The cats enjoyed it a little for the first two or three days then lost complete interest. Returning to store along with all the other junk from Kitty City I bought!
