I bought this for my 5 year old. He loves it. The box is huge for the size of the K'Nex that are in there. But since the price was so low I bought 2 of them. He did need help building things some of the pieces are hard to snap in even for me. But this has been a toy that he will sit and play with for hours.
I bought this K'NEX toy for my 7 year old nephew. The set comes with a booklet showing how to make the different figures. At his age he is already able to create many of the figures. Some of them are also a challenge so I know that he won't get bored with it. He loves it! It really keeps his attention. I like the fact that the K'NEX system helps kids use their imagination and creative skills. I purchased the K'NEX 325 piece tub on sale for $10 which I thought was a very good deal! I definitely recommend this product!
This was on sale, so I purchased this for my kids for Christmas. My kids already have a box of knex and they love them. I purchased this one so my kids would be able to build more things with the knex. This box comes with pictures to build the models, or you can let your imagination create your own masterpiece.
We first bought two tubs of the 350 piece value tubs (one for each of our boys, ages 11 and 7). They love them and especially my 11-year-old will build for hours and hours with these. A few days later we bought 2 tubs of this 325-piece set so the boys have more pieces to use. The sets are great, but one set is not enough if you want to be able to build multiple things at a time. So glad I found this 325-piece tub for $10... what a steal! My boys think these are way better than Legos. I knew my boys would enjoy them, but I did not realize they would literally play with them from sunrise to sunset! (And my 9 year old daughter is now telling us she wants a set of her own.) My 11 year old has already built all the models included in the instruction manual, plus we went online to the K'nex website and downloaded 91 pages of additional model instructions... now he's working his way through those as well as coming up with his own creations. A few other reviewers mentioned the pieces being small and hard to assemble. We did not find that to be the case here. If your kids are able to build with regular Legos, then they should have no problem building with these pieces. One thing to keep in mind is that the tubs are much larger than than necessary for the amount of pieces that they come with. Just be aware of that and don't be expecting the tub to be filled to the brim. The instructions say it's done that way so you can store you built models in the tub without having to take them apart. I'd wager they really do it to encourage you to buy more sets to fill the tub. Regardless, I highly recommend this product!!
My son love this toy. He is very much into LEGOs and he likes to try different construction sets.
I bought this for my 6 year old grandson and he likes it. Starting playing with it as soon as I gave it to him. Later his 9 year old sister played with it.
The pieces in this box are very small, and cover barely the bottom of the box when spread out. I got this on sale when it was for 10$ or the value would not be worth it. Comparing to my previous K'nex pieces, these are 1/4th the size, there are about 300 small pieces and the rest of the 25 are wheels, and larger pieces. If you want to build something decently large and firm, this box wont meet your expectations.
watch out k'nex lovers! in this box its not just the original k'nex pieces, there are micro k'nex and also lego type pieces, when i first purchased this tub i thought i was just getting the original k'nex pieces, but instead i got these tiny k'nex and all these bricks! if you want the original k'nex its not this tub!
I though this tub contains the original K'NEX pieces but was utterly disappointed. Only the tub is big and that's all to this product. The pieces are really tiny and difficult to assemble. Even my daughter who has never lost interest in a toy like this before did not find it interesting enough to continue. Not even worth $10 as all you are getting is a tub!
When I was a kid, I had two cases of K'nex. I could build anything with these; ferris wheels, mircale-rounds, 4 wheel drive vehicles, anything. The cases were jammed full of parts and even a battery powered motor. When I ordered this one, I though I was getting s steal. I was excited on the way to pick it up only to be disappointed. 75% of the pieces were new parts that are a third of the size of the old parts. There were no gears, motors, or pulleys. This case was worthless. They gave you instructions on how to build a few unrecognizable objects but there really were not enough parts there to build anything cool. These were one childhood toy I should have never touched again.
