When I first purchased this item, I thought to myself, I will give it a try. I'm so happy that I did! The flavor is very good, delicious! The instructions are simple and easy to read and understand. I will purchase this again!
I gave this 2 stars for flavor (after a couple splashes of hot sauce). The product is "red beans and rice", but is mostly pasta with darn little rice and beans. What a disappointment
I've used the Red beans and rice as a staple in our home for many years. I purchase several packages when I find it at the local grocery store. I recently bought a bunch to restock our pantry only to realize after cooking the first package that the flavor had changed as well as the addition of pasta. It was awful! Nobody in my family could even choke it down. Now I'm stuck with 16 packages that we will NOT be using. Please change the recipe back.
After reading the reviews, I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who doesn't like the new red beans and rice. That alone should tell the company something is wrong with the product. My family loves the OLD red beans and rice we refuse to buy any more of the new red beans and rice. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE change it back to the old.
I agree with all theses other reviews! I have been eating this product for years and years and a few years back y'all changed the recipe and it was'nt as good as before but now you added pasta to it and it is disgusting!! I had a few bites and had to throw the rest in the trash!! Please change it back and then leave it alone!!
Our family loves Red Bean and Rice, BUT last month I bought a packaged and noticed it smelled funny. I figured it may had been a change in ingredients so I proceeded to cook it. None the less, it tastes worse than it smelled. It tasted like rotten pactacios! A few days ago I decided to get another package and try it again. It was the same exact disgusting taste as the last time I purchased it. Something has to be going wrong with production because the expiration date isn't for another month. Very very disappointed.
Please change back your red beans and rice ! We loved it before you added a ton of beef seasoning to it ! It was great before you changed it the whole family ate it ! I have tried other brands, nothing compares to the old flavor, Please change it back we miss it so much !
A few years ago while at a supermarket, my girlfriend and I picked up the Knorr's Red Beans & Rice packet to cook along with a Mexican themed dinner. The seasonings and the rice were wonderful and had we not made it from the package we wouldn't have known it wasn't homemade. It tasted absolutely great, and we made it at least twice a month for over a year, though eventually we bought a rice cooker and started making our own from scratch. This week however, looking for something quick and remembering how good this was, I purchased a packet of Red Beans & Rice and was thoroughly disappointed that the recipe had changed from being all rice to being a "Rice & Pasta Blend." The noodles sitting in the rice make an unappealing contrast of texture and do not absorb flavor as well as the rice; in all honesty they make the dish feel slimy and taste bland. In addition, it seems the seasoning recipe has changed as well, as overall it is less flavorful, but I am not completely certain if the recipe has changed or if the noodles are simply making the taste off putting by themselves. I am very disappointed in this change and will no longer be purchasing any of Knorr's Rice Sides as long as they continue to have pasta in them.
Tried this for the first time. Love all the others and have no stomach problems with them. This one about killed me, burped it up for two days. Today is the fourth day after eating it and I am feeling better. Days of heart burn as well. Maybe it was just my stomach as others might not have a problem.
This was the most disappointing side dish. More cut up vermicelli than anything. Very little sauce, maybe five grains of rice in a forkful, and you have to hunt for the beans. Never buying this again! Going to add a can of kidney beans and some spices to the leftovers to make it palatable.
