Just 2 cups of water and 1 tbsp of butter in a sauce pan, add the rice, bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 7 minutes, stirring occasionally. It came out great with a nice light sauce. There are peas and carrots added in the rice to give it more flavor. A great side dish for any meal.

The rice itself is tasty and has a very tame sauce that goes well with the peas and carrots. The rice cooks quickly (within 10 minutes really). You don't need much to make this a meal either. We had it as a side with chicken, but you can easily make this into a rice and chicken dish or use it as a side with fajitas. I have zero complaints with this because I can use it camping by boiling water and letting it simmer or bring it to a cookout and make people think I made it. Just kidding! But seriously, a little high in the sodium, so don't eat nightly, but this rice will be an added welcome addition to our pantry.

The texture isn't hard or uneasy to chew or swallow. I'm not sure that pasta and rice mixed together is best for some people's taste buds, but it didn't cause the side to falter any. I just would like to see an all natural version, without chemicals added to food. Otherwise, it was pleasant.

The package of this rice medley i got had zero taste. Made as directed. Added ground beef. There was absolutely no carrots and a couple of peas. Wouldn't buy this agin.
