The volca kick generates powerfully present kick sounds using a completely analog circuit. It uses an oscillating filter from the original MS-20 instead of a typical sine wave. The powerful Rev.1 filter of the MS-20 self-oscillates when resonance is increased to the maximum, producing powerful kick sounds with complex overtones. Parameters like MS-20 RESONATOR (PITCH/BEND/TIME), PULSE COLOUR/LEVEL, and AMP ATTACK/DECAY allow you to design a wide range of kick sounds. The DRIVE and TONE knobs let you aggressively control the sound by varying the distortion level and adjusting the high-frequency range. The 16-key touch-panel keyboard allows dynamic kick bass performance and generation of sub bass sounds. The volca kick covers a wide pitch range from low- to mid-frequencies, enabling various sounds including low tom, high tom, and sound effects. The 16-step sequencer supports automation of all parameters, real-time recording, and pattern chaining for large-scale developments. The motion sequence function records knob movements for time-varying changes to the sound. The ACTIVE STEP function skips steps during sequence playback for dynamic performances. The ACCENT, SLIDE, and BEND REVERSE functions let you edit sequences in detail. The TOUCH FX function triggers sequence effects like roll, octave, and sustain by touching a step key. Playback can be synchronized with another unit via the sync connector or used as a sound module with a MIDI IN jack.
