$ GREAT WEATHER STATION, BUY ONE $

This is a very good product for the price, You will not find another weather station that does all that this one does for the price anywhere. I have had it for a week now and found it to be very accurate as compared with a local state and airport weather station. It was fairly easy to set up and program (READ AND FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS) I highly recommend this weather station. As for some of the negative reviews they obviously did not read all of the product description before their purchase, and the ones who had problems setting theirs up did not read and follow all the instructions prior to setting up the unit. It's a good accurate weather station for the price.

A Weather Station I can afford

This weather station is great. I have always wanted one but did not want to pay top dollar. It did take some effort mounting the sensors. I placed all three on a metal pole (also bought a rain gauge). The anemometer mounts easily at the top. The temp/humidity sensor has to be shielded from rain and direct sun. Since I do not have an overhang on my trailer I used a plastic peanut container, cut to fit with one side open and mounted it and sensor to the pole. The rain gauge is third down from the top. It is mounted on an aluminum pole from an old awning (needs to be perfectly horizontal). One bit of trouble I ran into is using rechargeable batteries. Only use ALKALINE!!! One quick call to LaCrosse rectified this. I have enjoyed the data it collects and the easy to read display. No USB to the PC and it does NOT display wind direction, oh well for the money I can live with it. I use it everyday.

I was looking for a weather station to replace my old one that went bad. I chose this one because of all the things it does. I checked out laCross and the price was double Walmarts for the exact same unit. I have had it for 2 months now and I love it, got all the information I need (and even some I don't) but for the price, you won't find a better one. LOVE IT

Basically I wanted to know how strong the wind is in our yard, but with this unit I get all the other stuff too. It's nice to have everything in one unit.

I purchased this weather station in anticipation of the upcoming severe weather season. The price versus the options fit the budget just right. The unit has the outdoor temp, humidity and wind speed sensor. You can buy an optional rain gauge. I liked that as an add on option, because I do not want a rain sensor... having one included would increase the price if the setup. Installation and setup was easy. The hardest part was getting the wind sensor in a place with good access to wind. I think I have it now. Initial programming wasn't bad. Set time and date and a few more options, such as a reference barometric pressure for first calibration. Operation is easy. The only thing that got me was the calendar. It goes DAY/MONTH/YEAR, rather than MONTH/DAY/YEAR like most of us are used to. When readjusted, I discovered the unit wasn't broken. I had the unit set for 24 hour time. IF you use 12 hour time, the date will display m/d/y. This is a design function for use in military/european applications. The unit will track barometric pressure changes and display trends on a graph. Weather trends are displayed as an icon. The box says it has an advanced storm warning indicator. There is no mention of this in the manual. There are settings for this, although the manual say there is no storm alarm. Still, no Icon. I guess we will see during severe weather season. It stores minimum and maxumum measurements, and also has history, broken down into 3 hour intervals. Accuracy... well, it now shows improving conditions; but an ice storm is moving in :( It kind of has it backwards. Actually, it has a 75% accuracy rationg, and I actually think it is closer to 80% accurate at weather prediction. There are settings that allow the unit to use different sensitivity levels in its prediction. Over time and experience, a user could tweak it for their area to make it more accurate. All in all a nice unit. I'm gl;ad I got it. It is as accurate as anything you will get at the consumer leve.

Interesting unit that seems to work well. Only three possible improvements that I would like and that is 1. Ability to shorten the 35' wind wire to what is needed; 2. Ability to have unit indicate the wind direction; 3. Instructions on setting barometric pressure for different altitudes.

I found the set up easier than the last weather station I had. Its not as difficult to go through the set up features on the internal unit.

Does not give wind direction

I bought this thinking it showed wind direction as i fly a powered parachute and need to know if there is a cross wind.Next time i'll look for a vane on the wind speed sensor. It says "wireless" but theres 32 ft "phoneline" connecting the wind sensor with the thermo hygro transmitter. This sends info to the base station inside the house wireless.

It was described as being 6 x 8 inches. has great features and I bought 4 of them for gifts. Well they are 3&1/2 by 3&1/2. Could not even read the tiny display. I returned them to the store where they sell them for $25.00 and on line i paid $32.00. I am sure someone might like it but not me.
