Ever since my mother in-law bought this for my 2 and 1/2 year old, I have noticed a GREAT difference in his language skills. Lol he raised the level to the highest setting. He's saying his ABC's without any problems. When we go places, he points out the letters from signs going "momma momma momma, that's a G! or B!" or any letter he sees. He is reading along with the game, and points at the words as he is reading. I am really glad he got this for Christmans (2014), he just keeps growing more and more with it everyday. Thank you LeapFrog! lol and Nanna too ;-)

Got this for our three year old grandson. He's just beginning to learn and the Leap Pad and the Clifford the big red dog story and app have really excited him. He feels so proud that he has his own tablet and activities that he can do without others hovering. Yay for Leap Pad! AND CLIFFORD.

My Izzy is 5 years old. Walmart has been helping her learn with leapfrog products for years. This game has her repeating what she says, by spelling it out. She is going to be way ahead of other kids when she starts school. One thing I do not like is that she says, a spells apple, so, we are working on her moving up to sound out the words to know what ALL letters spell apple instead of a spells apple. This is a great game to teach your children how to spell out words and eventually read! Excellent game! It came store to store in less than a week. I suggest getting it delivered to your home. Make your order more than $50 and shipping is free. I love what leapfrog and walmart do to help my kids be more intelligent and ready for anything!

This is one of my favorite games purchased for my son by Leapfrog. My son is 3 and still enjoys this game after 6 months. If you are still playing a game after 6 month, you know its good. I actually wish more Leapfrog apps were like this game since it is a great value for all the content that is in the game. The game is basically 5 mini games in 1. The games are age appropriate since you can adjust the difficulty level as needed. Here are the focus areas: 1. Letter identification: You get a letter than you move the pieces in place to complete the letter. After placing the pieces, you get to paint the letter with five different colors. The letter is placed in at the beginning of a word to show children how its part of a word. 2. Rhyming: You get pictures that rhyme in group of 3. 3. Word building: You build a canvas where you help create. You are given letters to choose from to create a three letter word. Once child picks all three letters, a picture is revealed. For example: log. Great word association with visual. 4.Sounds connection: Digging time is where you help reveal a toy that's been buried in the yard. Each toy matches a letter in a group of 3. After playing and completing each game, you earn a Clifford sticker. Collect ten and you are able to add a mini Clifford book to your book shelf for read. You can have it read to you or you can read the book. Heck there are other leapfrog games that cost the price of this game which just give you a couple books. Great app. Definite buy.

With this app being one of the more expensive ones, I was hesitant to purchase it for my 3 year old. I knew it would be beneficial to her as school approached but I didn't want to cram learning down her throat. I was mainly looking for something fun for her to do. However, it has promoted her letter recognition and has showed her how letters work together to make words and words to tell a story. She has enjoyed every activity in the game and she plays it every time she uses her leappad. The plus side is that when she truly understands spelling, the app will only be more fun for her.

Truthfully I was highly skeptical about the cost of this app, but after reading some of the other detailed and stellar reviews I thought I would take a Leap and give it a try. The other reviews are absolutely right, this app is actually worth the money spent. Other reviewers have gone into details about the game so I feel no need to duplicate what they have said. The other reviews that detail the levels and the various activities are correct, but the app is better than I thought. I am not one to buy an app for this price easily but I will tell you that I have zero regrets in the money spent. The app in our house is used by a 3 year old and she truly enjoys it. She likes completing the different areas activities to earn stickers in order to get another book on the bookshelf. At this time we have only tested out level one. This is a well done app that I am glad I took a risk on.

My 4 year old had so much can fun with this game and helps him take an interest in learning the letters. He especially liked coloring them in. I like using games like this and letter factory and having a variety to get him learning what he needs. Every time he plays this game he gets a renewed enthusiasm for learning the alphabet and their sounds.

I remember reading Clifford when I was a kid. Now my child can enjoy the same beloved dog and the simple stories that engage us. This game is best suited for two to six years old. It has four mini games for play which teaches letter recognition, sound, and rhyming words. You earn stickers, which you collect them to gain a total of ten mini stories for read. The words are age appropriate for learning, three letters words. The Mini games are...1.Rhyming, Look and take pictures that rhyme in group of three. 2.Letter recognition is like a puzzle, it gives you a letter than you move the pieces in place to complete the letter. After placing the pieces, you get to paint the letter with five different colors.Than the letter is placed in at the beginning of a word to show children how its part of a word. 3. Word building is a canvas where you help create. You are given letters to choose from to create a three letter word. Once child picks all three letters, a picture is revealed. For example: log. Great word association with visual. 4.Sounds connection.... digging time is where you help reveal a toy thats been burried in the yard. Each toy dugged up matches a letter, in a group of three. For example: puppet, purse, pom poms is for the letter "P". After playing and completing each game, you earn a Clifford sticker. Collect ten stickers and you gain a Clifford book for your book shelf to have it read by story mode or you can read the book. The books are about five pages, example of one page: "Cleo runs. She runs into the mud." Great for beginner reader. *This is one of my favorite games purchased for my child by Leapfrog. She is two and a half and enjoys this game. She knows her letters but we are still working on sounds, its perfect to grow with her. There is three levels to play from. This review was base on level one. For the age this is geared towards, there is plenty for them to do. Leapfrog did an excellent job with this one!!!!!

My 4 year old loves this game. He loves the different games, fixing and coloring the letters, spelling, reading the books, changing the difficulty, collecting badges for new books, it's a terrific game that's easy to follow. The only flaw is that the game only auto populates specific letters for 3 letter words to spell, which tends to annoy my son who wants to spell more and/or a specific word. Other than that it's a really fun game that my son rarely wants to put down. A great buy.
