Will be using in my Kindergarten classroom. Students love making pretend zoos by building with blocks. It helps to have so many animals to help them share. Also use them to have students sort the animals--to find similarities and differences such as which animals have stripes or which animals are grey.
These animals are great for sorting and counting. We even submerged some in jello for an animal dig! Our two year old loves these!

As a disclaimer; As an educator and mother to two small children, I'm passionate about children's toys that provide for open-ended play, are durable, classic, and "go-to" toys. I collect toys as a hobby both new, retro, and vintage. I am also a believer in minimalism, waldorf, and montessori philosophies. I've never "pulled the switch" on a set of small plastic animals because they are always so junky!! These are absolutely not! They feel good in your hands, all stand up on hard surfaces, and my kids will love them!
My daughter loves these. We create sections on the floor to imagine a zoo. We count with them. They are in all of our areas of play. You can't go wrong with figurines of animals. A favorite no doubt.
I received this free product as part of an incentivized review program. I use the animals with special needs children for activities including counting, sorting, and same/different. I appreciate that the animals are realistic in color and anatomy such that, while my 10-11 year old students are still working at basic skill levels, they can use realistic figures rather than cartoon-like or preschool type animals. They have high interest in the animals included. For several weeks, I was unaware that the label inside the container was actually a fold-out brochure. Discovering this, I was then impressed that the brochure included facts about each animal. Each time I open the container, I am momentarily halted by a strong almost chemical smell from the plastic figures, but this has not stopped me from using the product.
I initially purchased these because I thought they were a set of playing animals but when they arrived I realized that they were counters. I think the price for these small animals is a bit high but my 6 ye old son has enjoys using them for his math assignments so I decided to keep them. My 2 yr old enjoys playing with them as well.
Not as advertised. Animals are a lot smaller than they appear in the photos and there's only 12 different animals, the rest are copies. Not worth the money.
60 animal and number of animal types are 6! The rest is copies only !!! No much species of animals no cats no dogs ! Very very small ones ...
