this is one of the largest sets for the Lego. Mario series. you just can't go wrong, you sync your character up with a tablet or phone, and get ready for hours of fun play. of course you have to build it first, and that's why Legos are so much fun! kids will love Bowser ship but you will probably have to help the younger ones out, be sure not to lose a small pieces.
Must have internet too put together it comes with no instructions but the internet instructions are awesome it's 3d No guess work
Great addition to our Mario collection! Unique build with fun characters. My 8 year old son loved it. One of his favorites!
My son thoroughly enjoyed building this set. Good amount of detail in the design and just enough complexity to occupy an 8 year old for a few hours.

I bought this for my oldest son, who enjoys legos more than video games. He is still working on it, but he is having a blast with it.
First, all Mario products have instructions tied to the app to play/connect Mario. This is a great way to integrate and get users to play but incredibly inconvenient for parents to have a tablet or smartphone on hand for an entire build. Children should be able to use printed instructions if desired. Second, there are a few intricate and precarious pieces such bas the claw that does not sit securely. The slightest movement of the set causes items to collapse, making for a frustrating interaction
No written instructions first off, which is ridiculous especially when you have a child who isnt tech savvy. Secondly, no bowser figure. You would think Bowsers ship would have bowser right, wrong? Third, you need to spend another $50 on another set to complete it. Sorry but its going back to the store. For the price you pay for this thing it isnt worth the headache.
