The other reviews said you had to buy a starter kit with this phone, which is not correct. You don't need to. Overall love the phone, but Virgin customer service awful. I bought 2 phones from Walmart. We previously had Virgin accounts so assumed transferring the old phone numbers to the new would be a snap. Not so. the first phone transferred seamlessly, in about an hour. My wife's on the other hand didn't. I have literally talked to 10 different people trying to resolve this seemingly easy request, and spent hours on hold. I have been promised at least 5 times that it would be switched over within hours. I am now on my 30th hour, still waiting. Back to the phone, I am very happy with mine. Good battery, good memory, 8gb instead of 4. I do like Virgins rates, so hopefully worth all the frustration if and when resolved.
Note: Please be aware that this phone, purchased from Walmart with the tag Data Done Right, can NOT be used an an upgrade phone to an existing Virgin Mobile account. You will be required to purchase the starter kit and open a new account. Only had the phone for a short time until discovering the above. New Data Done Right plans (as detailed on Virgin Mobile Site) are great for multiple phone accounts. If you are looking to do a family plan with a couple of phones on single account I'm not sure there is a better deal available. As for phone. Lots of reviews available online and in my brief time with the phone, I have to agree. Very solid phone and would recommend purchase.
I was replacing a Virgin Mobile N800 phone and changing my plan when I came across this phone. For $80, everything is superior to my N800, especially the Sprint Service. Previously where I got 0 bars, I now get 1 or 2. Previously where I could not call on my phone for lack of service, I now have no fear. I did not have to buy the starter kit to get my phone to work. However, my first phone purchase was defective. So I had to return the phone for a replacement. The second phone took about 3 hours to connect because the software to place the phone in service was very buggy. In the end, though, I have a phone that cost me $80, and I have a phone plan that I pay $30/Month and I get 3 GB of LTE data, and 300 minutes. And, I can purchase more minutes or data if needed. If you want a great deal and don't mind the hassle, get this phone. On the other hand, I have yet to get a phone that is not a hassle...without paying hundreds of dollars for the phone and $80+ for the service.
I bought a lg Volt phone because of the reviews from Walmart in a Virgin Mobile box. Come to find out this is a Walmart phone and plan sold at Walmart in Virgin Mobile Box using Virgin Mobile network. So as a Virgin Mobile customer for many years you can not get the 2 day turn around when you have a defective phone it will take up to 3 weeks through LG as Walmart does not do warranty repairs. Also you are on a Walmart cell plan not a Virgin Mobile plan so you cannot switch any Virgin Mobile phones that you may have as a backup while service is being done. This means you pay for cell phone service when you do not have a phone to use. So BEWARE of this to good to be real deal on this and any other Virgin Mobile phones that Walmart may sell in the future as they will not be a TRUE Virgin Mobile Phone.. reference number: B0TGPV0VG0
