I had tried "prescription" hearing aids from the audiologist a few years ago, and found the buzzy, metallic sound unbearable. I love these hearing aids, though! Excellent sound quality, great adjustability, extremely lightweight and comfortable. I often forget I'm wearing them - like me, only better.
LifeEar Core Hearing Aids are the Best around as far as technology and reducing background noise.
