It's amazing. The quality is so good. We already have a bigger version of this shed, and we love it. It has lasted 3 winters and even a move! This one was even easier to put together and looks so nice. Just get it. This brand is superior to the others too.
I have the 60001 model with two sets of doors and a window that opens on the back 10 ft side. I would like to point out that my shed is installed on the end of a 10X18 deck that is about a foot off the ground. One set of doors at the end of the shed and deck makes it easy to enter an use. Also of importance is the fact that at the opposite end of the shed there are two small access ports at approximately 6 ft. high. These two ports are made to use at entry points for electric lines. Nothing is said in the info about them but they work really well for that access.
We purchased this shed about 5 years ago when we had our pool installed. We didn't want a wood shed, so we bought this one. It has held up really well, it is made of vinyl so you can just wash it down with vinyl cleaner. We have plenty of room to store our pool floats, chairs, supplies and etc. We absolutely love it! We have had a lot of compliments on it, and a lot of interest in the building.
First of all, this is a very popular item. I checked every day for 3 weeks waiting for a shipment to come in and I was not the only one. It came in two large very heavy boxes and I brought them home in my pickup. Be aware, you won't be bringing these home on a roof rack! It took my wife, son and myself to get them off the truck and into the back yard. Boxes were marked well and one was labeled that the instructions were inside. I got these out first and read them carefully before starting to put the shed together. I put the shed on a base of pressure treated 2x4s and 3/4 plywood leveled on small cinder blocks on top of gravel. I put much of the initial parts together myself, the floor and the side walls. One thing, the window is instructed for the back wall. Because of neighbors high bushes, I checked and found out I could put it in one of the side walls without any difficulty. The sections will interchange. I had some problems figuring out how to put up the roof, but my neighbor came home just about the time I was about to give up and he and I figured it out and after that, things went very smoothly. Take your time putting the roof skylights in. I was careful and made sure they were waterproof. I had no problems with the peak skylights. The windows went in without any problems, but I had some water leakage in the opera windows in the front, at the bottom which I sealed up with some of the leftover sealant that Lifetime supplied. They do not leak now. Overall, the shed is watertight after several significant rain storms in the last month. All parts fit well and easily together. The doors open and close easily and fit well. One thing. When I was putting in the peak skylights by myself, the cheap aluminum ladder I was using twisted and started to fall. My elbow was resting on top of one of the roof trusses and it supported me and I let myself down. This meant that they were supporting almost 200 lbs and that bodes well for the winter snows. I would not do chin ups on them, but they are quite sturdy. The shelves are sturdy enough to support various cans and bottles and tools. With some imagination, this is a very versatile utility shed. As for winter, I already have a roof rake for my house and I will probably utilize it for the shed if the snow gets too heavy. Engineered and constructed very well.
I contacted Lifetime to order replacement roof parts and was pleasantly surprised to find that they were still available. They arrived at my front door 1 week later at no charge for the parts or for the shipping. That kind of service is amazing for a 10 year old product.
My wife bought this to keep her beekeeping supplies in. The two of us put it up in a weekend. Had a hard rain two days later and it stayed bone dry inside. She especially loves how much light the there is inside with the windows and skylights. This is our second Lifetime building, and will probably get another in a couple years. Can't have too much storage, right? Definitely recommend.
I would love to give a five star rating, but the installation was just too complicated for that.having the part numbers in the installation manual mats to actual part numbers on the parts, would be greatly beneficial. The QRC's listed in the manual that link to lifetime videos are very helpful, but definitely viewing all the videos available online from other people who assembled the shed, is highly recommended.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a good shed. It looks very nice and will hopefully withstand the Florida summers for quite some time. FYI, HDPE is one of the better plastics that can withstand degradation from sunlight. I did place it in a more shaded location in my backyard on a 2x6 base construction so this should help. Overall, the assembly process is not too bad with one exception... the doors. I managed to assemble the shed by myself in one day but utilized some ratchet straps to hold things in place. I also mounted the first end roofing components prior to the metal support bars so that the bars could be attached to the panels. The doors were my biggest challenge. I would suggest partially mounting the gable roof panel prior to the door installation step so that you can use that panel to hold the front gable in place. As a mechanical designer I would have attached the door mounting differently to allow for the installation of doors in a final step and not midway through the process. The only other issue I see is minimal boss material for screw attachment into plastic panels. If you are not careful, you can strip the plastic holes. The final product looks good and has plenty of storage for my needs. It's cheaper and needs no paint like a wood shed and will not rust like a metal one but time will tell about water intrusion and plastic degradation. I would suggest this purchase for those who prefer something that looks pleasant without the extra maintenance that wood or metal sheds require. Should you get it? Yes, unless you want a work shed that needs to be customized to your needs. Wood will also allow for addition of storage cabinets without the need for framework. A call to customer service was required since one part suffered shipping damage and two wall caps were missing. However, I must say that this was the best customer service I have ever dealt with in a long time. Kudos to those who assisted me.
Product arrived on time and in good shape. All pieces included were present. Way too much for only one or two people to assemble unless that is all that you do. Quality materials but would like a more finished threshold at the doorway. High end look. We are so glad that we included installation with our order and are sure to have many maintenance free years of use.
This shed is poorly designed and poorly made. I started with a 2x4 pressure treated frame 16" center with 3/4 pressure treated plywood as decking. I assembled the shed exactly as instructed. The shed can only be assembled in one way because if anything is out of wack the screw holes don't match up. Everything was perfect until I tried to close the doors. The right door was 1 1/2" high. When I looked further the right wall that the door was attached to was an inch or so off the deck. After looking at several YouTube videos of how people fixed the same problem I ended up blocking the right rear corner with a 1 1/2" block. That seemed to work but looked awful and was probably going to be a problem in the future. When I contacted customer support I was told that the foundation was out of level even though I had sent them photos of the foundation with a level on it and pictures of the string lines I used to show that the foundation was straight and true. So they have a defective product and have to ay that it is my fault for some reason. I get it. I'll be contacting Sams Club for help and then the Better Business Bureau if that doesn't work. Please see the pictures for a better understanding of the issue.
