[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I built my Lifetime shed exactly as per the directions. After it was assembled I looked for any gaps or holes that critters could find. The only gap I could find was under the two doors. I purchased a door gasket and put it under the door. Other then that, this shed is perfect.
We bought this shed about a month ago and had it assembled by the company that Sams uses. We got the shed one day and the very next day the young man came and assembled it. He did a fantastic job, but it took him pretty much most of the day. So glad that my husband did not attempt to put this together, although he is a great handyman, this would’ve taken him a very long time. Everything went very smoothly and the shed looks beautiful. My husband loves it, because now he can put all of his miscellaneous big items in there and have room for his exotic cars in the garage. We also had the shed bolted to the concrete pad, so it would not blow away. It is very sturdy, but we had this done just to be sure. as of right now we are loving it.
This was the first shed I built myself so I did the research. My wife and I were able to put it up ourselves with the help of the instructions and videos on line. I managed to drive over a truss so I called customer service and spoke with Alejandro. He was extremely helpful and I had the replacement parts I needed very quickly. My wife and I are extremely pleased with Lifetime's product (our shed) and the service they provided.
I just finished putting this together. Took me 4 hours the first day, during which I assembled trusses & doors. Dad came to help with setting up floor & walls. I then popped in the screws connecting panels. Put up doors & front gable, and it got dark outside so I stopped for the day. Yesterday I attacked the roof by myself, which is actually possible to do alone. Directions were excellent, I took my time with the whole assembly and double checked some of the diagrams for part orientation. Got it all done, second day of work was like 5 hours, basically alone. Dad came out to help a bit, keeping me company & handing me screws.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great shed, perfect size and height to store typical homeowners everyday storage and lawn items. Fairly easy to assemble with one novice 65+ person. Just needed assistance for the corner walls with help from a can of silicone spray. Just follow assy directions and as far as Door alignments as suggested from previous owners, placing block in the back of the shed and a shim underneath the door bushing worked. Doors close and lock perfectly. I placed both windows on one side based on location for optimal lighting and the skylights just added that additional light. Added the snow load kit as I live in the northeast. Purchased before assy so I was able to include the short truss brace through the threaded rod during assy w/o securing it with self tapping screws until final installation of the whole kit. This avoided having to undo the top cap nut. As far as the snow load assy,pre-drilling before actually inserting the self tapping screws made the Job a lot easier. Very happy with the outcome and waterproof tested with additional rain storms with out additional sealing of the various joints. Shed highly recommended, very good quality.
Great shed. Make sure you take the time do fo a level foundation. Once you have that in place everything goes in super easy. We bought 2 of these for 2 different locations and put them up back to back. The little “board” they give you to help lock in the corners is a must! We fought the first corner on the first shed and the used the board. Worked like magic!
I made a wooden base, and everything went smoothly. I didn't have to adjust the doors or shim anything. The only issue is putting the walls up on a windy day. My wife and I got the whole thing together in about 4 hours, but it would have been less if we didn't spend so much time holding things in place when wind gusts came. I also already had everything unboxed and ready the day before we put it up, which helped us get done faster the next day. Just make sure your base is level and square. Only complaint, but not worth losing a star, is that I didn't find out it didn't come with the anchoring hardware until the end, and that you have to order it separately. I get that you'd use different hardware for a cement or wood base, but that should be asked in the ordering process, so the hardware comes with the kit. All in all, we're extremely happy. We use it mainly to get our three kids' bikes and scooters out of the garage, along with some other things. I love having my garage back. I love that I didn't have to paint anything too. It looks very nice and we're very happy. You will most likely need to build a ramp if you do a wooden base on posts due to being in a frontline climate with ground that's not level. But, you should have plenty of plywood leftover from your foundation and just need a couple 2 x 4s.
Very nice looking shed. Lots of storage space. Really nice floor. I waited about 3 weeks before it shipped (due to Lifetime having limited staff and shipping issues during pandemic) however no regrets, well worth it! I have researched before making a shed decision and this was definitely a great choice . I had a contractor build a cemenf foundation a few days prior to the install. They key is to make sure its level. 2 workers built if in exactly 6 hours start to finish. Only negative comment i can give is i wish lifetime would make a better locking system on this shed. That took my contractor longer than the actuall shed being build. Color is more of a beige , lighter than appears. It matched my house well too! Dont wait just order it!
Lifetime provides Free Shipping. That's Great! However, the shed is on an 8' skid, which the truck driver had a heck of a time unloading on a short lift gate. After some time getting it off, he says it is only a curbside delivery. How am I going to get a 600+lb skid off the berm? After some nice talking, he wheeled it up to my house on a concrete driveway. Thank goodness! Can't imagine unpacking 100's of pieces from the road. Upon unpacking the product and reading the instructions, I noticed the roof panels are on the top and the floor panels on the bottom. I am sure Lifetime has a packing method, but you would think the roof panels would be at the bottom of the box. So it's pretty much unpacking everything at first if you have the room to do it. Assembly instructions are pretty good. Some places like the dead bolts on the doors are hard to figure out. Could use some better instructions there. However, the online video was a big help. The Assembly went good. Did have some trouble with snapping the corner panels in the base. All my weight and block underneath and still had trouble. Had to reconfigure the door latch. The doors would not close because the two sides were hitting each other. Did not like the long shelf in the corners with only 2 screws supporting it. I took a 2x6 in each corner to the floor and it' feels more secure now. Overall it's a nice shed, but will see how it holds up.
We had our shed assembled today. We are very upset with the doors. They do not fit or close correctly. When you attempt to close the doors, the bottom of the doors hit each other before the door is closed. Both doors have to be opened & closed @ the same time. Unable to figure out anyway to adjust.
