Very durable, easy to assemble, water proof, perfect for my outdoor items
Easy to assemble and very sturdy. I've had a larger version of this for over 10 years…still looks and performs fantastic! WELL worth the money!
Double wall is the way to go. This is the most solid, well-made deck box I have ever bought. Ever have mice get into your deck box? They won't get into this one. The only problem I had with it was assembling the hinges. You have bolts with nuts for the attachment to the base (not screws) and the openings are either a small depression or a tiny hole. I had to make holes in the plastic for the bolts. Oh, and you need 4 different driver bits: a Philips and 3 different nut drivers from 1/2 to 7/16. I still gave it 5 stars because of the solidity and the amazing clearance price.
The directions, when, using an electric drill or battery powered drill, should advise the installer when putting the screws in to do it on low torque torque command so you won't strip them out
We bought this to use as a parcel delivery box. It is very heavy duty and assembly was not difficult. I do recommend a drill to make pilot holes for the screws. The gas assisted hinge keeps the lid up when taking items out of the box. We are very satisfied with it.
Size and quality are perfect.. I encountered some issues with the holes for the bolts and screws not being Pre-drilled. This slowed down the assembly process quite a bit! I ended up using a drill to open the holes to the size I needed. I am extremely happy with the quality of this product .
I like the fact that it was American made, but putting it together was no different than the foreign country products that I've put together holes weren't lined up. Metal bracket wouldn't fit correctly. It's too much work to put this thing together.
Horrible quality. Needed additional tools beyond those listed in the instructions to assemble. The holes for the screws were filled and needed to be drilled. Parts listed SAE sizes in the instruction pamphlet, but were metric. Not able to assemble with a screwdriver if the holes are not properly completed in production. Additional tools needed: Hinge Drill Bit set to properly center and drill holes into the plastic, 10mm socket and open wrench.
Connection points are hollow on half of them which are required to lock the base to the sides down. Clearly the injection mold failed and made it hollow in some. Others are solid. The mold has a lot of over molding that needs to be cut off to make other parts fit. Everything is just screwed into plastic. Any tug or hit will dislodge it and break it. Should of been reinforced or had a screw system.
There is a design and/or manufacturing defect that prevents the sides from sliding into place. The pins are too short, which makes it impossible to install without damaging anything. Lifetime has to go back to the drawing board with this one. Not sure why it is still being sold?
