It works well. It holds long umbrellas and I hang short umbrellas from the bar which has an opening that I suppose was designed for this purpose. Hang them by the little strap or rope on short umbrellas. I have 3 long and 2 short in it. The base is nice and heavy but it works best to distribute the umbrella weight evenly. The handle at the top makes it easy to pick up and move the holder around. Good purchase even with the cheaper price.
The product seems fantastic, but you cannot really expect me to comment on its durability after putting it together and placing it in the hallway, can you?
I really like the way this looks and would love to have a coat tree to match. it doesn't matter the size of umbrella - this holds them all.
