This outfit served the purpose very well. It is one size fits all (up to size 12) so a little tucking here and there was needed. It was chilly on Halloween night so I wore sweatpants underneath and tucked excess fabric at the waist under my sweatpants elastic band and it worked great. It helped to keep the skirt off the ground and my hands free (I'm 5'1"). The outfit was slightly different from the one pictured. It was missing the sewn band of gold binding at the waist. It came with the gold cord for the waist as shown, which I used in front, to off set the tucking. The skirt insert puffed out and did not lie as flat as in the picture without ironing. There is a tie-back of the same burgundy fabric which made the upper waist somewhat adjustable. The headpiece worked well and felt great on my head. I received many compliments. I could not beat the price and service using site to store shipping. This worked well since my local walmart was sold out of many adult costumes by the first week in October.
The costume was really cute, but it was the head piece that really made the outfit. The only problem I had with it was, for some reason, the right arm was tighter than the left arm. Because I wore it all day at work, it was slighty uncomfortable, but not annoying enough to change my clothes.
This costume is truly a Standard size (or smaller) in the arm/sleeve area. While sized nicely everywhere else (bust, hips, etc.) the sleeves are very tight. This particular item may have been sewn incorrectly, so it is hard for me to judge it. The overall effect of the costume is pleasing and definitely gets the Renaissance feel across. While the pink in the sleeve and center area are nice, I am not sure that Renaissance maidens wore this color. (Mine was a returned costume, hurriedly packed the last purchaser wrapped it around a child's teenage ninja costume cardboard insert)
