I searched a long time for this size frame that was affordable. I only needed one to replace a very old frame that fallen off the wall and shattered the glass. Getting two at this price was a huge plus because the drawings inside the frames are colored pencil sketches of myself and my sister we had done 39 years ago when she took me to Disney World for my thirteenth birthday. So I needed them to be of good quality as well as look nice and match. Extremely happy with this purchase.
Was looking for white frames but was unable to find in this size at Walmart or anywhere else unless I was willing to shell out excess of $50. This did the job - I only needed to spray paint it to white, which cost another $6
Before ordering my frames (10 total), I read a warning that these are a little hard to hang. They are. The hanger is a 1/2" triangle and it can be hard to get it on the nail because it folds down. I used a trick that made it easier: Thread a length of sewing thread through the triangle and use it to keep the triangle pointed up. Hold the ends of the thread tight with the same hand you hold the top of the frame with. I hope this makes sense because it really helped. The frames are beautiful, by the way.
First of all, it is hard to find any frame this size for less than $20, or even $40, so I thought this was a great deal to get 2 for $20. They look very nice for the price I paid. It doesn't have intricate carving and elegant lines, very straightforward, but I didn't need them to be. They would likely chip or dent but this was not an issue for me. If you are using them for expensive artwork or something similar, you may be better off buying something more elegant and more expensive. Just have to mention, that usually buying in a set or buying from website rather than store, you get a better price, but this was not the case. I bought 2 frames for $19.98 on the website, plus $2 to ship to my home, but I happened to find them in the store for $ 8.98 apiece, which is only $17.96 for a set. Not a big deal, but I could have saved a few bucks with the cost plus shipping, not to mention I would not have had to wait for them to arrive. Either way, these look very nice. If you want simple, yet nice, without the cost, I recommend these frames.
I looked all over for frames like these, but they are expensive! These a great frames, especially for the price. I'm sure I will be ordering more of these in the future!
Overall these frames are a good value. The only problem I had w/ them is that when I picked them up from the store after ordering them online, one of them was scratched and I had to send it back.
Was warned by another reviewer that glass could be broken. One of the frames did arrive with broken glass. Better packaging is needed. The price is so reasonable so even if you come out with one good one is is a fair value.
I ordered 5 of these 2 packs for a grouping. One of the two packs arrived damaged and had to be returned and reordered. The others were not damaged, but the quality is very low. The corners seem just a little too loose. I am going ahead and using them due to lack of time to finish this project before hosting a party, but I would not recommend them them to anyone who will have them in a prominent place.
I enjoyed that these frames are real wood, and my art looks great. I like the price, too. The only criticism I have is , I have bought frames from the same manufacturer before and each one has wood flaking off inside so it's very hard not to get particles under the glass. I finally modge podged the inside and it fixed the problem. The manufacturer might want to put a protective coating inside the frame.
One of the frames was broken. Glass everywhere. Will reorder. The frames looked nice and I think I will like them. That is why I said I would recommend them. The package came swiftly and ahead of time. The frames were adequately wrapped and secure. Don't know what happened. Glad I had the Wal-Mart employee unwrap the package before I left the store. The box looked like it had been through a war. Disappointed but realize things happen.
