My family just loves to sit around a fire on a cool evening after dinner at sunset with the grandkids. Our last chiminea finally gave out after about 5 years so we needed a new one. The mainstay's suntree 59-Inch Steel Wood Burning chiminea seems perfect for our needs. Less than 5ft tall, compact and light weight, easily assembled with a Phillips head screwdriver and ready to use within 10 minutes I love the design, easy to load the solid wood grate is terrific, for stacking wood fitting about 4 or 5 of the 3 inch in diameter branches, easy to light and roast marshmallows for dessert through the large open sides. The poker is super well designed and makes stoking the fire a breeze, The fire burns hot and creates a drafting action drawing fresh air into the fire from the sides to get the most heat as we sit around it without the smoke gravitating towards us. The only down side we found was that we will need to purchase a cover for the chiminea or place it in the garage when its not in use due to not having water drain hol Yes I would recommend this product.
I like the way this product looks on my Patio. And I got it at good price. No problem with shipping or easy to ensemble.
The Chiminea was easy to put together and not too heavy to move. It stands at 5' tall and is well made. I like that the 2 sides have screens to help prevent flying sparks. The wood rack and poker are also both metal and look just like the picture shown. I haven't used it yet due to the weather but I plan on it once Spring comes.
This looks as cool on my patio as I had hoped! Very unique and perfect size! The assembly was simple. Quite a long wait for it to arrive but totally worth it.
pleased with the look, sturdiness and quality
very modern design, love the rust powder coat finish (in spite of one long scratch). great price.
Nice! Color not as vibrant as I would have liked, but really like it as a display in our yard. People comment on it all the time!
This chiminea is on the smaller side - its about 5 ft tall and narrow. The steel looks like it has a rust finish painted on. It doesn't hold a lot of wood, so you're not going to burn anything very large in it, but it's fine for enjoying a fire on a small concrete or stone patio. Remember, its made of steel, so it gets hot! Keep it a safe distance from kids and pets. Also, the instructions recommend covering it when not in use.
I was very excited to have my Suntree 59” tall Steel Wood Burning Chiminea arrive! It was in a good size box (19x19x29) and was well packaged, breaking down into three stacking metal upright pieces and a few other smaller parts. The shipped box weighs 37.4 pounds, made in China and distributed from Arkansas. Assembly was fairly straight forward, I'm just adding a helper comment: when aligning the screws with each screw hole, use a small ice pick or a very tiny Philips head screwdriver, or a nail to center the holes; as it will help with a faster and less stressful assembly. Upon assembly, the paint finish (brushed) on the top and bottom pieces was the same, but the middle section was a bit off, it was very visible in the sunlight. Next, I put in the fire grille grate at the bottom of the firebox, which is fairly lightweight, so I do have a concern if a long-hot fire would quickly warp the grate. Another concern is the firebox bottom, as it is as thin as the rest of the metal build, so my concern is that it would burn eventually burn through if one makes a long-hot fire in the box. The metal used for the main structure is fine, but it only has two sides screened, to catch sparks; not sure why the third open area is not screened in too. I decided to not burn wood in this Chiminea, as I don't want to expedite the bottom of the firebox burn through, so I've been using fire logs and fire material (wax/wood/paper) in a cookie tin; stay away from the waxy fire starters, as they are messy. The fire logs provide reduced intense heat, minimum cleanup, and no sparks to deal with, but still provide the ambience of a fire. So, after eight uses, lasting for approximately an hour and a half each, I found the Chiminea to be working fine, though it not has undergone log/wood fires, nor has it been left out in the snow or rain. It does come with a fire grate removal handle, which is a nice add-on feature. Enjoy!
I received the Mainstays Suntree 59-Inch Steel Wood Burning Chiminea to complete an honest non paid review. The chiminea was very easy to assemble. Phillips head screw driver is the only tool you will need to assemble. I wasn't a fan of the natural rust finish. First the color resembles diarrhea, second you can see brush strokes, and third it scratches off very easily. I also noticed the 3 tiers of the chiminea were different shades. The chiminea is very light weight and easy to move around. I was very hesitant to burn firewood in the chiminea. The steel sides are bowed out creating a gap from the bottom where the fire and ash sit. Which did prove to be a problem when a fire was lit. Two side of the chiminea are a mesh like steel then the other two sides are completely open. I didn't like that design very much. All in all I don't think I would recommend or use this chiminea again. Definitely not worth $146 at retail.
