When I was a kid, this was the breakfast that helped me face cold and snowy days. It warmed me for that cold wait at the bus stop in New England.
We can't find this in the stores around my parts anymore; my grandmother has been looking for it for over a year. She asked me to look online and see if it was still available or if it was a discontinued product. Wal-Mart had it at a killer deal, (12) 20 oz. boxes (case) for $50.14 with shipping. That should last here for the next 5 years, Thanks Wal-Mart!
Maltex has been around since 1899, and remains a good,quick, nourishing way to start the day. Preparation takes less than five minutes, but the hearty breakfast keeps you going until lunch. A tasty alternative to oatmeal, it is also economical, requiring only 1/3 cup per serving.
The flavor brought back so many memories - it hasn't changed from the nutty goodness of years ago. For someone who isn't a pasty oatmeal fan, this cereal tastes good, has great texture, and is a whole wheat product. Looking for a different hot cereal? Try it!

I have purchasd Maltex since I did an advertising campaign for them in 1953 in Burlington, Vt. Maltex is not readily available on the west coast; however, in the past I was able to purchase a minimum of 6 boxes. Having to purchase a case (12 boxes) thru Walmat is an extremely high quantity and I will be giving many away this year.
I have loved Maltex since my childhood. I thought they didn't make it anymore. I decided to check on walmart.com and there it was! It's a good tasting hot cereal and good for you!
I was looking for this cereal for a long time they stopped selling it in New York. So I had to order it online, it taste just as good as I remembered. Wish I didn't have to purchase twelve boxes.
I have enjoyed eating Maltex for a long, long time but recently I was not able to find it locally at any stores. I'm so glad Walmart was able to get me it. Thanks, Pat F.
We ordered a case of Malte-12 Boxes, we only received 10. It was not Fed Ex's fault, it was the person who packed the box.
