I'm a left-handed fountain pen user, so most spiral notebooks are uncomfortable and not fountain pen friendly. This superior product is the exception.
I've used these books for years. I like the hard cover and the strong paper. I wish they made the covers in different colors like they did once upon a time. I'm big on color coding. Other than that, it's a perfect, long lasting wire notebook that holds up to the test of time.
It's a nice notebook. The pages are thick (no bleed thru with my gel pen) and the cover is very sturdy.
As long as Mead keeps making these, I will buy them. The wire binding with the hard cover makes it possible to write anywhere. I don't want to use any different notebooks.

I use it for business reference notes that I want to maintain a permanent record of, and for tracking special projects. I love the hard cover that lets me take notes when I'm in an auditorium and don't have a desk surface. I also love the understated elegance of the black cover. The pocket is handy for holding handouts until they are filed. Just a beautifully functional and attractive product.

Paper quality is excellent and until recently I would have given this product 5 stars. Unfortunately the last several notebooks have not held up well. The wire binding comes loose from the cover after being opened and closed a number of times and I have to work the cover and pages back onto the wire to hold the book together. Once the notebook starts having this problem it tends to recur and the notebook is never the same. I am disappointed about this because I haven't found anything I like better to replace it.
