If you like turned based RPG's... this is fantastic.. not a fan of the way final fantasy has been going. less turned based and more technology infused with medievel fantasy. so wasnt sure if i was going to like this game. looked very "technology-ish". but i was very happily suprised. its a throwback in gameplay similar to final fantasy 3 for SNES. little technolgy but not enough to take away from the fantasy. and TURNED BASED. YES!!! story is also great with fun characters and a villian you love to hate... like kefka or sephiroth.
This game has amazing graphics, an amazing story, and very in-depth characters. It is one of the few games I have played where you actually are interested in the characters. It is probably the second best RPG I have ever played behind FFX. I would highly recommend it to any RPG addict.
I've been playing this game for the past two weeks and I haven't been able to put it down. The story is completely original and the gameplay is as good as any Final Fantasy. The gameplay can be choppy at times(primarily when a battle starts) but is made up for by the game's beautiful graphics made possible by the full innovation of the unreal engine. It is also ameliorated by the games gargantuan size; spanning across 4-tripple layer disks, meaning that you will be playing for up to 60-70 hours. If you are a fan of Final Fantasy games, Japanese role-playing games, or role-playing games in general, than definitely pick this one up. One tip however, this game is hard, I definitely recommend buying a strategy guide, or looking one up online. It helped me out.
This game will appeal most to people who enjoyed the classic turn-based RPGs. It is old-school turn-based, but with some unique elements to make it fresh and exciting. It starts off slow, but once the great art design, English voice acting, and plot draw you in, you wont want to put it down. The loading times are also a lot faster than earlier reviews noted, so don't let that stop you from buying this game. It has its minor flaws, but is overall a great package.

The battles are turn-by-turn, which makes it easy and fun to overcome all obstacles in your way. The menu screen has a lot of features, from learning spells to crafting items. The graphics are great, everything looks “real” even better in HD. The sound and music could use a little work but still sounds good. If you’re a first time RPGer or looking for a new RPG, this one will keep you busy and entertained for a long time. I recommend this game to everyone.
This game takes a little while to get into. The menus and battle system can be a little clunky at first especially the ring system. But once you get the hang of it is a really fun game. The graphics are good, but nothing to really blow you away. I'm playing mine own a 1080p LCD tv connected with a HDMI cable. But be warned you must be a role playing game fan to enjoy this. Because almost all RPG cliche's apply here, a kingdom in trouble, cheap bosses, a dimestore villan, and a story that takes a while to get into. But all in all a good middle of the road RPG to keep you occupied until FFXIII comes out.

I am really REALLY a big fan of this game. The game plays a lot like a final fantasy game with turn based fighting. So if you don't like those kind of games you might go ahead and pass on this one. Now if you liked final fantasy type games than I can only suggest going out right now or when you get off work, or whenever you can and buy this game. Pay extra for it. You will not be dissapointed. I've been playing for 17 hours total and I just finished the first of four disks. And personally I hate when I hear people say "Oh That game was Awesome I beat it in like Ten hours." Thats not Awesome. That Game cost 60 Bucks!!!! Anyways Buy it. Go now and buy it.
its gotta be the best turn based rpg that i've played since final fantasy 7 and the story is well layed out it plays just like a movie i fell in love with within the first few hours and the graphics are unbelieveable. i would highly recommend this to every final fantasy fan and if u normally dont like rpg's then i would still look into it if u like fantasy games.
It's all been done before. Great graphics and a trigger button sequence with the rings. Other than that nothing spectacular. I played it to about level 18 and I haven't played it since. Also DISC 4 has problems. It's known about this game. It took forever and about 20 tries to get disc 4 to install to the hard drive. I recommend to install all games that you play the most of on to the Hard drive it keeps the system cool. Other than that its just and RPG with Next GEn graphics but also with old school graphics and camera angles. I wouldn't buy it again but to each its own.
