I finally got around to installing it, it was really simple and it works great, I just need to get it tuned and I'll be set, Midland makes some great products.
Bought this for myself for Christmas have not put in yet so not really sure how it will be but I have had a midland radio in the past and have full confidence it will be great
If you have limited space and want a basic CB with Weather capability then this is the rig for you. It is the smallest radio I could find with weather capability and was just small enough to fit the space I had. Great radio for the price. If you need more than a basic radio then you will have to get something larger than this package. I have other CB's with more features and several Ham Radios with all kinds of features. This radio does what it does just as well as anything else using just the features of this radio. If you want or need any other features you will have to find a larger radio. I installed this radio in a motor home and mostly use it to listen to traffic reports while traveling and will seldom use it to talk to anyone else. My motor home does not provide a good ground plane for the CB antenna and therefore has a high (8-9) SWR on transmit. This would could cause serious problems for any radio and is not a short fall of this radio, just the vehicle I have it installed in. Most motor homes have this problem due to the fiberglass (non metal) body.
Very nice, light and easy to install!!! Excellent Value, All the features you need, perfect for a Jeep Wrangler. The weather scan is cyrstal clear with no additional speaker. I paired mine with a Firestik antenna and tuned it in....Perfect...I highly recommend it!
GOOD RADIO LIKE THE WX ON IT
This is my first CB Radio and so far i am very satisfied with it. It does not have all the features a more expensive radio would have but seems to have enough fetchers for a beginner like me. You can most likely put it anywhere in your car or truck. For me I am using it as a base station. I do have to warn you that in the amazon Technical details it says it takes 2 AA batteries but it only has a 12 volt power cable made to wire into a fuse box or other 12 volt power source. So don't be fooled. I would recommend this CB Radio to Beginners and Experienced CB Users.
So far seems to be a okay CB small and compact got it to replace an other CB that was large but didn't have the weather channel, will know more after this weekend off-road run.
I recently installed the Midland CB in my late model GMC Sierra pickup. It wouldn't quite fit in any of the dashboard storage bins, so I mounted it under the dash. The CB works fine, and the weather channel is the main reason I bought this particular CB. There are two things that bug me: First, the On/Off Volume control knob is very close to the microphone plug which makes using the knob a little difficult. Second, the Weather Scan will start looking for a channel when you lose the signal, like when you drive under an elevated road way or anything that blocks the NOAA signal for a few seconds. None of things are really bothersome! I like the radio.
This CB radio is very nice and compact, the weather radio feature is why I purchased this model. It has a great speaker for its size, solid feeling mic, easy to use controls. My only gripe is the display, it is very easy to read and clear in sunlight. However when you wipe the unit off or touch the display it shadows and takes a few seconds to clear up. They should have used a thicker plastic. Not that I touch the display or wipe it off often, but still it cought my attention.
I can't really review this product because the one I received did not work right out of the box and I promptly returned it for a refund and bought another brand in the store.
