Love the look and functionality of this file tray. I put pretty heavy stacks of invoices in each tray and there was no tipping. I absolutely love that the trays can pull out as well. Stack your papers in the tray and pull it out when you need it. They slide out so easily its ridiculous. As an added bonus, the top tray can store things like paper clips, staple remover, etc...I wasn't completely thrilled about the basket at the bottom. I kept knocking it over and off of the hooks that it somewhat hung on. It was somewhat awkward, for me. HOWEVER, even with "meh" feeling about the bottom tray, I gave this five stars. It's so sleek, so sturdy, and such a great file tray for anyone's office.

Well, please read on, as I shall gladly explain my reasoning with pertinence to this specific comment. I am often inundated by a countlessly numerous quantity of paperwork. Trying to locate the precise whereabouts of a particular document tends to be quite encumbering and frustrating. This organizer surely removes that chore and fulfills a helpfully useful purpose. Needless to say, it's a real time saver, too. For quite some time, I had been searching for an appropriate manner by which I could manage to conveniently organize my important documents so as to render them readily accessible. "Mind Reader Census Metal Mesh 3-Tier File Tray" is just what its name indicates. Product as described. End of story. Oh, hold on now, I'm not finished yet. LOL! This is a truly well conceived, sturdily constructed, practical product. It features three, sufficiently sized, wire mesh trays and sturdy brackets. Each of its three trays has a plentiful capacity to hold and support the heavy weight of a considerably large amount of papers. I also own "Mind Reader 5-Tier Steel Desk Paper Organizer", which, of course, has an overall larger capacity. This model offers a convenient place atop its trays where various accessories may be kept. All "Mind Reader" organizers offer a nice alternative to file cabinets; especially, for those documents needing to be readily accessible. While it does require some basic assembly, doing so is rather simple and easy. "Mind Reader Census Metal Mesh 3-Tier File Tray" is essentially helpful for use in an office, or by students, and/or at home. After all, we all have respectively busy schedules. Therefore, everyone can find a use for a very good product that keeps papers, or various other items, conveniently organized. If you are reading my review, chances are the chances are mighty good that you're looking at "Mind Reader Census Metal Mesh 3-Tier File Tray". So, don't put it off any longer. I have a lot of file folders and some papers on my desk. This is just what I needed to make my desk look neat. Now I have them all in one place and so nice that the three trays pull out. The three trays slide out easy. No having to tug on them or them falling out of the track...it is well made.,,sturdy. Makes it easier to look for the file or papers you need. I also put my mail in the top tray until I have a chance to look at it. There is a top mesh tray that will hold paper clips, pens, pencils, rubber bands things like that. I liked that too. I could not get the 5 screws tightened enough so had my son do that for me. It was easy to put together and the directions are very easy to go by. It is just pictures showing you what goes where. Looks nice on the desk, not too large. Height is 10.5 inches.The width is 11.5 inches and the depth is 13.75 inches. So it's a nice size. This is nice for the home or office. The weight is about 3.3 lbs. Not heavy. Easy to move around on your desk. The design is nice.
I thought the materials could be better quality and sturdy. But does the job! Plenty of room for paper books projects. Of course then would be lot heavy than it is. I would recommend for home use but not every day office work.
I am a Spark Reviewer for Walmart and was given a free Mind Reader Census Metal Mesh 3 Tier File Tray to review. The metal frame is very heavy duty. You have to put it together and will need a small headed Phillips screwdriver to attach the six screws that hold the frame pieces together. The metal dowels attach to the side frames and are a little hard to get going. I found that after initially screwing them in as far as I could, I set it down for maybe about 5 minutes and then they finished screwing in all the way. The total time it took for me to put it together was about 10 minutes. The three baskets then slide into the sides. The baskets are about 1 ½” deep. They are 10 ½” wide by 13” long. The distance between basket #1 and basket #2 as well as basket #2 to basket #3 is about 1 ¼” from the top of the basket to the bottom of the one above it. At the top of the frame is a dowel that goes across. The distance from the top of the upper basket to the dowel is about 2 ½” if you don't attach the little upper basket and 2” if you do. Along the top dowel a small basket attaches that is about 1” deep by 3” long by 11” wide. It has a small divider area that is perfect for putting paperclips in. The larger area can hold some pens or pencils. Under the lower basket is a small tray that has indentations in it. This tray will slide out to the side and can hold more pens, pencils, scissors, erasers, paperclips, etc. This slide out tray is about 11” wide by 7” with the indentations being about 1” deep. What is really nice is the 3 main baskets slide forward or out so you can access the papers on each level very easily. The color is a matte black and the frame is quite sturdy. This would be a great addition to any office and a nice space saver for a home office area, a nice addition to a work area for college kids, or anywhere you want to keep papers, bills, coupons etc. neat without having piles of stuff sitting on a desk or table.
I received this 3 tier desk organizer in exchange for an honest review. I most likely would not ever go out looking for a tiered desk organizer thinking that it just adds one more thing to my already crowded desk, but I actually like it now that I've set it up. I normally keep bills to be paid, articles on things I'm interested in, clipped pictures from magazines and catalogs and notes in a stack on my desk. But that stack can get messy and certain things get relegated to the bottom of the pile and forgotten. Now, I have bottom tray for future projects/items or articles of interest, the middle tray for things I want to respond to or purchase but I'm not quite ready, and the top tray for bills and or correspondence needing to be paid or responded to right away. Takes up the same amount of space as my stack, but a quick glance gives me an overall view of things with easier access (all three trays roll out if I need a better look). The small tray underneath that slides out to the side can hold misc. small items (although not tall enough to hold a roll of tape) including extra pens,pencils, erasers or what not. My only complaint is the narrow tray at top to hold pens/pencils and small items on one side like paperclips/rubber bands attaches to the top bar of the unit with 2 clips welded to the back of the tray-and stays in place with a small nub on each side of the tray that is supposed to keep it upright (see photo) but the slightest touch to the front of the tray causes the clips to pop up in back and the tray to fall forward spilling your pens/pencils and paperclips all over your desk (very annoying) hence the deduction of a star. I solved the problem very easily with the addition of about a 2” piece of black electrical tape lengthwise on the center top rear frame of the tray extending over the back holding the tray onto the rod. You can't see it and it does the trick, but it was obviously a poor design. If they had notched the side bars that the nubs rest against or even included a top clip (that would do what my tape does) I would have given it five stars as it seems sturdy, is easy to put together (5 steps) and it helps to keep me more organized and efficient.
Assembly takes about five or ten minutes using a Phillips screwdriver to attach six screws. The included diagram adequately demonstrates the assembly steps. Do not over-tighten the screws! When assembling, I recommend getting all six screws started but not tightened until the entire framework has been assembled. Then place the framework on a flat surface, insert all the trays, press down on the vertical frame sides, make sure everything looks square, then proceed to tighten each screw. The top utility tray for pens or small items snaps easily onto the top of the assembled framework however I found it is easily dislodged when bumped. I may decide to use pliers and attempt to tighten two metal clips so the tray is less likely to be casually dislodged. The bottom utility tray slides out to either the right or the left, and may be useful to store small items that are not frequently accessed. Three letter-size trays slide out easily and individually. Each letter tray could probably hold one ream of paper (500 sheets). If you have to move the framework when all the letter trays are full, either remove the three letter trays before you move the framework or else be very careful because a letter tray will unexpectedly slide out and dump its contents on the floor. Overall, I like and would recommend this product for its organizational capabilities.
this file organizer is a good way to organize your desk area, there are some set backs to it though, I feel like the product could have been better. this thing sits twelve inches tall and has a ton of ways to store items from your work area. the three paper trays are removable and slide with ease. the bottom tray, underneath the three paper trays, has four designated sections for other small items. and there is a top tray that has two designated spaces for little things. all great storage spaces. when you receive this you will have to assemble the thing. you will need a screw driver, it was a little difficult screwing the screws, because holding the metal pole legs kept slipping in my hands., well I got it together about 15 minutes. do not over tighten the screws or it will cause the file sorter to be lopsided. now the flaws, the top tray comes off way to easy, you may need to get some pliers to tighten the metal hooks that hold it on. and the paper trays slide very easy, there is nothing stopping them from coming all the way out if you pull them towards you. but they cannot go all the way back, so they will never fall out the back. and the bottom tray is held in super flimsy. it's just resting on metal wires you have to attach. overall, I do think with some modification this item can be really useful in organizing your area, the price is not bad for everything you get, I am thinking of getting another one!
Top tray just lays on there and we had to bend the metal to make it stay. It kept flipping forward before we bent the metal to make it hold better. Trays slid in and out too easily. Could not deal with it for day to day use so it was moved to a cabinet to hold extra supplies. Disappointed in this item...
Product is not very sturdy and the trays move very easily. The pen basket that clips to the top keeps falling. You ca't put a peice of paper in the tray without everything moving around.
